I don't care what they're charging for it, it's three complete versions of the film (two of which have never been made available except on VHS) with awesome artwork and transfers supervised by Spielberg himself. That's worth $50 in my opinion. It's pricey, but you get what you pay for, and after this shit with Paramount, Spielberg deserves my support and he'll get it. Everyone on this board and on this site should buy this release as a show of support for Spielberg and HIS show of support for Blu-Ray, for the consumer, and for the future of optical discs as a whole.
This title must be bought by every Blu-ray disc fan around the world,it does include DolbyTHD and DTSHDMA

Between Speilberg and now Bay basically saying "F you paramount, no Transformers 2" as punishment for their decision to go HDDVD, it really shows that nobody really likes the idea of HDDVD except Bill Gates and his Wallet.

Spielberg could just walk off Indiana Jones 4 set and demand Paramount to reverse course. That would be something.

Great going Steven Spielberg!

I'll tell ya something else too, George Lucas, Francis Ford Coppolla, Brian De Palma and Martin Scorsese to name but a few are all close friends.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they'd been discussing what's going on between themselves all along.

The film making community is a mutual admiration society and all the big directors talk to each other.

God I hope Spielberg takes an even more proactive stance on this.
Me too, particularly given that Paramount has seemed to go out of their way to piss all over Spielberg and his associates. That was likely a major league mistake by the Paramount executives that will come back to haunt them, as I'm sure this HD-DVD exclusivity agreement will come back and bite them.

Paramount is not funding the production of Indy 4, Lucasfilm is. Paramount is only the distributor.

I think it would be even better if Spielberg were to convince Lucasfilm to drop Paramount and change distribution of the film to 20th Century Fox.

Noooo. Not Fox! Sony or Buena Vista, please. Otherwise we'll get a barebones disc for $40MSRP.

BV is actually a good possibility considering George is rumored to be expanding the Star Wars section at Disney World

Good point. It'll still probably come out on Blu-ray though if Steven Spielberg's films are excempt from the deal.

Thumbs up Spielberg ROCKS!!!

I have bought every CE3K format from VHS, Laserdisc, DVD and will buy the Blu-Ray edition. It is my all time favorite movie. Also have ET on all formats. I even have a Laserdisc of 1941. My PS3 will be playing any Speilberg Blu-Ray that is released. I was looking forward to the Star Terk movies though. I guess I will wait until Paramount comes to their senses.
