Sad to see this thread has not been used for a little over a year, I very much enjoyed reading it and it reminded me of many titles that had good 3D that I want to watch over. But many releases have come out since February of 2019...

I really love the 3D in Comin' at Ya', I think there are more popouts on it than many of these films combined. Step Up 3D has awesome 3D, and I love the 3D in the first Pacific Rim, and of course A Christmas Carol has very nice 3D as does The Polar Express. In the last year I have not caught up on my 3D movies, I have over 60 to watch, about 30% of them are from Germany, after doing weeks of research on titles from there, you know whether they have English, and how good is the 3D, I searched many sites for reviews and picked up about 20 great titles. Wow, 3D has really boomed in Germany. But you have to be very careful what you get. There is a label that release all the SyFy movies in 3D, and they are just ultra-cheap conversions.

Golden and Silver Age 3D is usually best for popouts. Parasite features one of the best you'll ever see (the infamous pipe scene).

Gemini man was a great 3D experience! Now I’m sad I missed it in the theaters.

The Three Stooges shorts on the Mad Magician releases have terrific pop outs, including putting you in the postition of one of their legendary eye pokes. Wether you have interest in the main film or not, it's well worth buying Mad Magician for those shorts alone.

I was surprised and disappointed that the Mysterio sequence in Spider-Man: Far From Home didn't have a ton of 3D pop-outs. What a wasted opportunity.

finally got around to watching this last night! I just have to say this is one of the weirdest movies I've ever seen.... it's like a fever dream! (but not unpleasant lol)

and agreed - lots of popouts! I especially remember a spear thrown at the viewer that really came out of the screen

To be fair, none of the Marvel movies have a ton of pop-outs.

Exactly, I'm never surprised at MCU movies not having pop outs.

You mean the MCU. The Amazing Spiderman 2 has quite a lot.

It has a fair few, some of them quite impressive, but I don't think the strength of them overall is anything special. Great conversion though, I'll say that much.

Yeah i love the 3D in Amazing Spiderman 2, that's definitely a great disc with loads of really cool 3D shots and 3D fx.

The Amazing Spiderman 1 had a lot less but on an overhead city shot, a spire on top of a building stuck out so far it almost knocked my glasses off! Alas it was also weaker overall. You are right though, strong pop-outs in MCU movies only happen fast and purposely blur as they get closer. Not very satisfying.

MCU's popout game is underrated. Off the top of my head I remember:

The Avengers - Stark's freefall suit-up, Hawkeye shooting an arrow straight at the camera/Loki, tons of debris during the Battle of New York

Guardians of the Galaxy - Every 4th shot, especially the alien rat during the bar game

Guardians 2 - Every 6th shot, especially Yondu's arrow

Thor Ragnarok - Lots of popout fun with Mjolnir in the opening fight

Infinity War - Lots of popout debris when the Guardians rescue Thor

Best pop outs I have ever seen in order of best.

Experiments In Love short (The Stewardess) shuttlecock flying out of the screen and high heel shoe poking out of the screen so far that you can see the wear marks on the sole.

The Bubble: Floating beer glass and extended ladders heading right towards me

House Of Wax: ping pong ball flying towards me

IT Came From Outer Space: falling boulders

The Stewardess: stick in ghost train sequence

Gravity: floating debris

Life Of Pi: jumping fish

Of all those, I would say Experiments In Love and The Bubble have the most pop outs.

I love it 3D movies when objects break the top and bottom black borders. Guardians 2 has a lot of this. In Dredd when he shots a man in the face a chunk of the man's face flies out of the black borders, unfortunately, this was in theaters and doesn't happen on the 3D disk.
