I do hope there's a patch for HZD before the sequel releases on PS5 give the PC release is around the corner too so i can enjoy it again in 4K. I actually left off where i played from but because its such a huge game and been probably over a year, i kind of lost my way in some story elements.
When I bought my new TV I booted it up to see how it looked in HDR along with Spider-man and great googly moogly I forgot just how bad the loading times were. Especially the initial load. I have been wanting to replay it since late last year but I am determined to hold off until I can play it on my PS5. It will probably be the first game I play, especially if the sequel ends of being a launch game.

One thing i'm really hoping is that for PS5 that they're actually going to release a new patch for it to be more in line with the PC release. One area atm i've noticed is not the worst but definitely due an upgrade is things like the water. Now on the little river areas its fine but the much more open areas lool quite poor. It doesn't look properly like water or reflect very well either.

There was also a very odd lighting issue at night on one mission. If i turned the camera towards the moon, it was fine and "normal" but then when i faced forwards as you would normally or to the right, it would artificially seem to darken. Really bizarre and of course, loading times even if just on a PS4 edition with better graphics were cut down, that will be a huge help.

Hoping to finis this and get my platinum and replay on PS5 alongside God of War. That is a bloody good looking game.

If I remember right weren’t there also no or very little water effects when swimming through lakes? I remember water being some of the few visual issues that I had with the game.

I think it's because there's one main pool of large open water area in the main game outside the little rivers and they felt they graphics would be better served being targeted elsewhere which fair enough, it's an impressive looking open world but with next gen hardware i'm hoping they boost it across the board and focus on those weaker areas.

The one thing i do know is that Guerilla not only let Kojima use their engine for Death Stranding but were keeping an eye on it for the PC release too. Now it makes so much more sense because they were planning to use it for a PC release of HZD. Hopefully that means they've been optimising HZD for a PS5 patch too. My sister bought a digital copy of it that i'm playing atm so even if that's the only version offered for an upgrade, that's fine atm.

MS haven't exactly detailed their "Smart Delivery" atm.

One of the biggest things that bugs me about Horizon is that there is no underwater exploration. Also I hate how almost none of the houses can be entered and explored. I've gone back to playing Witcher 3 and while I still prefer the combat in Horizon, I've come to the realization that in terms of the world and how much in it you can actually interact with, Witcher 3 is so superior. I still think pound for pound Witcher 3 is the best game this generation. Yes even better than God of War. I hope Horizon 2 gives us a much more freedom to explore and interact with the world.

There's just been so many good games this gen and i get what you mean about The Witcher 3 but hopefully another game that gets a PS5 performance patch. I think for this sequel that they'll hopefully being that it's likely PS5 exclusive will showcase what the console can do.

I'd like more exploration indoors as well. There are some castles and stuff, though not all that interesting in terms of interiors. Okay, time to finally load up Horizon Dawn again. I haven't completed the story, just unlocked most of the world. I'm sorry to say, but it feels repetitive with the tasks required to unlock the next zone, namely trying to climb the giant land striders and enhance the range. Some of the enemies can be a real hassle too when you're just trying to explore. Great controls and visuals though.

Personally just shoved it on "story" difficulty and i'm blasting through all the main questline but before i did that i went and got every single metal flower, Banuk statue and cup for tye collectibles and got the swanky power armour that's the best in the game now although you don't get it unlocked till close to the end of the game so happy i've pretty much done most everything else. That said, i am going to finish the main story and then do the DLC for it. I would probably play this again in 4k HDR on a PS5 with hopefully a really solid boost to loading times and other performance via a patch.
