My bets are that they are already in Spain but as Spanish Post has been working on "life support mode" since we started the confinement and has just back to normal this week (or so my local postman told me) they are around two months of parcels in their warehouses to be delivered.

for Disney to drop prices so quickly shows that sales are a Major (with a capital M) disappointment...and $23.99 is still not low enough to get people to buy this in masse...under $15 each would be a good start...if these movies had reference grade transfers it would be worth more but as is other then SW diehards it's not worth the price
You do realize that yesterday was “May the 4th Be with You” which caused for a lot of deals for Star Wars related content.

Also, you do realize that nobody is ever going to “rush out” and buy a UHD no matter the film because 9 times out of 10 the consumer likely already owns the VHS, DVD, Blu-ray, or digital copy.

Hell, I own the Star Wars films on DVD and have access to the entire Skywalker Saga through Disney+ so why should I spend more to own the UHD discs?

And again...with the mentality that catalog titles should determine the price point of release or the price is dependent on the quality of its transfer. That’s some bizzaro logic you have, buddy.

and 50% isn't remotely enough to prevent spread either
you really need a good 12' in each direction (and with stadium seating you need a good bit more than that in the forward directions)
they probably cna't fit more than 10% if they really wanted it safe

and then the restrooms, those high pressure hand dryers will just blow it all over and restrooms will be totally unsafe
sad goings, they need the vaccine or anti-body cure or something for movies to come back

it's not a new home release, it's a new release period
it's streaming type purchase/download which is sadly big these days
and they say that family films of that sort, regardless of quality, tend to be the top sellers for streaming or physical media taking down way more famous or better stuff all the time

Yeah I've got that set, not quite as nice as the 1997 art (typical Lucasfilm to take some lovely art and then do a photoshop approximation of it on a subsquent release) but they're the only laserdiscs I still own, mainly because I got mine signed at a convention many moons ago by Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee and Warwick Davis:

your May 4th analogy would work better if the sale only lasted for that 1 day...but the price is still $23.99...meaning that was just the start date

nobody is going to rush out and buy a UHD because they already own it on another format lol...you do realize you're on a site called Blu-ray.com?...this site contains outliers and people who do that exact thing...even Geoff ran and bought the box-set

the 'it's already on Disney+' mindset is valid but again you are confusing the average consumer with UHD buyers...we are not the norm...we are the niche...what mainstream people do does not apply...UHD physical buying in general is a niche

catalog titles should not be priced the same as brand new movies on UHD...and for the most part that principle has shown to be true...

Trolls World Tour was far from the norm...in fact it's redefining how movies will be released in the future...did any of the other straight to digital movies do as well as Trolls?

and the SW box-set is a disaster in terms of expectations and sales...the individual releases are doing better but not by all that much...if you think this has been some sort of huge success for Disney then you must own stock in Disney...the success of RoS was expected...it's the latest movie

I bought Rogue One from the recent mass releases...I also ended up buying the Best Buy Last Jedi 4K steelbook for cheap and I also picked up RoS 4K...I'm guessing those 3 movies are the big sellers and a lot of people already owned Last Jedi so those numbers might be skewed

I purchased Best Buy's Skywalker Saga set yesterday on the 4th for $199.99 and it's price has gone back to $249.99 today. It was a May 4th only sale. The individual movies are still on sale though. I feel that the UHD versions are superior and worth owning over the blu-ray versions which I also own.

Why are you basing the success of sales solely from those who are on Blu-ray.com? And no, I’m not confusing any buyers. Why is it what mainstream people do don’t apply? Is it because it fits your side of the argument?

Yes. You are correct. UHD is a niche market. And it only accounts for a small percentage of sales. So why are you not including the mainstream general percentage of sales, saying they do not apply? Because they do.

Why was it a “disaster”? I don’t think Disney expected the masses to turnout and purchase a $250 set on something they likely already own. Again, UHD is not the top seller for discs. Hell, DVD still outsells Blu-ray’s. So when the mainstream already have Ep 1-8 on disc, they’re not going to repurchase a box set but rather go out and buy TROS individually.

Honestly, the 9-film set is for niche collectors and not your average consumer. It was always going to be a hard sell. Be thankful Disney even put together the most finite box set of Star Wars films. Available to those who shell out the big bucks that can afford it. And in 4K no less!

Also, nobody could have predicted this coronavirus to be a huge factor into sales. And it likely is. So please, don’t make any excuses. Because I sure as hell know any regular joe off the street will put $250 towards more “essential” needs than frivolous wants.

I actually agree with you on that...Disney never expected the box-set to sell well...it's a write off...I knew from the moment they announced it as a Best Buy exclusive in the USA that they were not serious about it...$250 for mostly sub-par transfers?...no thanks

mainstream does not apply to UHD sales because mainstream people don't buy it in large enough numbers...simple...digital is where the mainstream flock...coronavirus or no coronavirus the box-set was never going to be a big seller...if the transfers were better I could see more hard core enthusiasts buying all the movies either individually or as part of the set

but as is most sane people are staying far away from this outside of buying a select few movies such as Rogue One or Revenge of the Sith

On my 4K disc of Rogue One, at precisely time index 2:07:11 the audio (which is just the end credits music at this point) "pops" (you can actually hear a little "pop" noise) and it becomes instantly louder than it was before that. This is using the Dolby Atmos track btw. I don't understand why this is happening. I looked at the 4K digital version (using the code that came with my disc) and it didn't have this problem, so I know for a fact that this should not be happening and that there is some sort of glitch here. The regular Blu-ray version doesn't have this problem either.

If any of you would be so kind as to look at your Rogue One 4K disc at time index 2:07:11 and see if you are noticing something weird as well, I'd really appreciate it. That way I would know if I just got a bad copy or if everyone's Rogue One 4K disc has this glitch.

Thank you.
Yes, I know I'm quoting myself, but I wanted to give you all an update.

I bought another copy at Target yesterday. (The refund expiration date had already passed).

And guess what? The new copy did the same thing. So I guess it's my player. It's weird because I thought my player was really good. It wasn't a cheap one, for sure.

The player I have is a Samsung UBD-M8500 (https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UBD-M.../dp/B072F9T5MR)

I've had it for years and I've never had any kind of problem until now. Dammit.

Correction: I pre-ordered the UK boxset. Then I pre-ordered the singles from Italy. Then I was told of an 'amazing' offer for all the SW UHDs from JB Hifi in Australia. Ordered those, cancelled the Italian ones. MASSIVE mistake as Oz basically shut down like a day after ordering them, they'd also be split into separate packages which would make them customs magnets. Cancelled those (though three still shipped, for whatever that's worth).

Amazon UK were dragging their heels over dispatching the UK set (nothing to do with covid either) so I cancelled it. Decided to bite the bullet and get the US singles at £25/30 a go on ebay from a trusted US seller, seeing as stuff from the US still seemed to be getting here with only a few days' delay. Another massive mistake as shipping from the US is now properly fcuked, after two weeks my first batch arrived in the UK yesterday but is now back in America, Fort Worth to be exact. I'd cry if it wasn't so hilarious, it's like a comedy of errors.

So yeah, I did run out and order it, several times over, but I'm still sitting here empty handed.

Did the shipment from ebay shipped with ebay's Global Priority Shipment program?

I won't be buying for a number of reasons, but it's about time these films were reissued with the original posters.

One of the user reviews of Empire on UHD brought up a good point, Fox owned A New Hope before the studio was acquired by Disney. Could the reason why ANH has less obvious DNR than the other 2 be because Fox did it, while Lucasfilm did the others?

No they didn't, Lucasfilm owned it. Fox had the perpetual distribution rights to SW and had the rights to eps 1-3, 5 and 6 up until May 2020 according to the original LFL/Fox distribution deal, so whatever was done in 2012 was done by Fox/LFL as a whole.
