In that case they might offer Vilya a position on the board.

Just added shelf space for 600 more Blu-ray disc so I should be good for awhile.

I just ordered 10 more Twilight Time blu-rays bringing my two day total to 19 titles. Amazon's gonna be jealous.

I am not sure that you're the person to be critiquing the accuracy of anyone's predictions; you're not exactly batting a 1000 yourself.

It won't, just because it acts as a gateway for multiple studios on where to buy content, as well as allow them to collect stats for studios on what you watch. UV only has a partial digital provider access, MA has a much better representation.

As far as Disney + is concerned, for as much as you buy only media, that still acts as this years covid-19 best source of family entertainment. Its also great consider they have a lot more works available and coming then you ever get in your collection.

I like being able to see the very early works/history of the studio after you visited the family's own museum in San Francisco.

MA is a US only offering. They need to expand globally to have a prayer of still being relevant in years to come. It’s already a niche, they need to be a bigger niche.
Digital lockers dint exist for all the other big business countries.

How much content Disney+ has is irrelevant if you like a broad range of content rather then kiddies films.

This is at least better then BBC iPlayer.

Indeed, predicting that something will, or won't, happen for "many, many years", or within other vague time frames, leaves the prognosticator plenty of wiggle room.

I live adjacent to tornado alley and my little village was utterly destroyed in 1925, so some of us that live here now predict that another killer twister is long overdue and that one will arrive "very, very soon." These specific predictions are as useful as are yours and those of most other self-anointed seers.

I just see it keeps accumulating a lot more of its owned content then it first came up. See https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=323347. It's also a indicator of when something goes 4K as it shows up there first. For me I use it in a mobile usage mostly or sampling something I am considering that out on media.

With all of the clairvoyants and descendants of Nostradamus that frequent these forums not a single one of them predicted this pandemic, yet they all know what the impact of it will be on nigh unto everything from the bagel cart business to Bugatti sales.

Pretty ain't it?

I really, really, really believe I don't ever have a use for Disney+

I have ALL the Marvel movies. (Not all the spin offs ... or all the comic books or action figures for that matter.)

I have all the classic Disney and Pixar stuff that I want.

I have too much of the edutainment nature documentary series to have interest in whatever they have in the National Geographic section.

The obvious reason - The quality sux. I did have a friend visit and we watched some Disney+ and I was excited to see movies I love but haven't seen in 4K yet... So I loaded up Cars and after a few sad minutes... I knew Disney+ wasn't for me. I have that UHD now instead with lossless audio.

I understand it's popular.. I take the money I would use for Disney+ and keep in my buying movies budget.

In the future maybe D+ will be the only way to watch Disney movies ... I really don't think so and also ... they released plenty of good stuff already.

-Brian

p.s. Yeah the car is kind of nice looking but very impractical at the same time. The sort of thing I would look at but wouldn't want in my garage.

p.p.s - It is possible someone will give me the Disney+ credentials... I do have other people's passwords for Hulu with TV and Netfux and directTV. But, I don't use any of them lately. If I do end up with someone else's D+ I don't think I'll ever use it. I have never done the free trial with any of my email addresses.

I think I'm going to separate the streaming sources from my home theater.

I did something similar a few years ago with games. I bought a small 1080p set just for the game consoles and it simplified everything. Made it far easier to keep things organized. There's no video games in my home theater.

My kids stream on phones and laptops ... and they could have a tv for that and they would likely still prefer the phones. We don't watch any traditional TV at all and never have. We don't get any over the air and I've never paid for cable.

My Theater can be reserved for higher quality AV. Now that Jaws is coming to UHD BD I think I will soon have all the movies I want most. In no time I will be able to watch a different UHD BD every night of the year.

I want the theater to be a special event... Streaming is junk that's better on a phone.

-Brian

Good Luck with that quest. While some buy everything 4K in sight. We are not quite there with the finer films available on 4K.

Plenty of great stuff on UHD and significantly more if you include upsampled Blu Ray which I prefer over 4K streaming.

I'd still be able to stream if or when I want too. I'm just talking about offloading the streaming to a small OLED maybe with a sound bar... The Econo crap most people consider to be a good system.

I wouldn't lose anything... aside from low quality playback in my home theater. Good bye potato vision.
