American Whovian here. Anyone yet hear of any plans to release SHADA on Blu-ray in the States? I'd happily purchase the UK edition, except the last time I bought a UK Who Blu-ray the bonus features wld not play on my machine - only the main feature would play.

If Power Of The Daleks didn't get a US blu, I don't see Shada getting one. You'd think the Tom factor would get it a release but with the ongoing season sets it seems things like this are much lower priority along with the likes of the New Who steelbook range that stopped at Season 3.

That'll be Series 1-4, which had 24Hz episodes and 50Hz bonus features. Shada and its extras are in 50Hz, so it seems it wouldn't be compatible with your equipment.

US customer here using a Region A Sony Blu-ray player.

Just popped the Shada disc in. The Tardis background shows on my screen and I hear a voice describing the options for audio navigation. No matter what text I click on, I cannot watch the actual content.

Am I missing something or do I have a defective disc? Or is it because my US player isn’t able to properly read the disc?

The disc is 50i, you need to be able to view that.

Does the TV support 50i? If not, yeah than you're propably out of luck.

You could also get a new BD player which converts 50i to 60i so it will play on all US TVs, not just the few capable of 50i playback.

Thanks!

Currently staying with my family during the pandemic, but I have another player that is region free at home. I will try that when I can.
