The streaming stuff I can watch literally anywhere and that's like my plan B. I have a few TVs in the house so I can stream on those. I can DL iTunes to my iPad and watch when I'm at the DMV or on an airplane or when I'm anywhere I don't want to be. Thankfully, that happens a lot less these days.

When the World is going Streaming you decide to go Physical. Can't you see the Studios are going to put out First Run Movies to Streaming. Here is one coming out on Netflix, Ball and Chain:

I'm sure other Studios will want to keep up with Netflix!

I don’t do what the world does, I do what I like. That’s what makes us collectors and A/V purists different. We don’t settle for shit like the masses. Film is a art form and should be treated as such.

I always dreamt of having a HT as a child. Now I have one, I ain’t letting go!

Nothing has changed. It's all just pay TV. HBO, Showtime and others have produced their own series and movies for many years.

I believe most here now understand physical ≠ SVOD, physical = EST. I have posted this several times.

≠ means “not equal”
= means “equal”

At one point I had to decide where to redeem codes first between iTunes and Vudu and I went with iTunes thank goodness. Maybe I already had an ATV4K at the time.

My iTunes library is the only online movies I care about these days. I'll read about what happens with Vudu and I hope for the best for users now that it's been sold. I don't buy iTunes content anymore or other streaming content but I subscribe to iTunes music. I suppose MoviesAnywhere is also compelling and I wonder which between those two will be better in time. MA has Di$ney4K s without having to pay for the D+.
Lionsgate films keeps messing with Valerian. It was missing on iTunes. I had it redeemed to iTunes when using Lionsgate scanning app, then I go to a web site and it accepts the code again and only gives Vudu as a choice.

Some of the movies in my collection are out of print. I've bought Infinity Saga boxset, good luck trying to replace that. Or what about limited edition steel boxes?

On what grounds? Have you not read the TOS/EULA of your providers and the content owners? They have 100% control, you have 0% control and you AGREED to this.

I guess the world doesn't include me.
My season 1 of Stranger things 4K just arrived from Walmart of all places (Target Exclusive)

My Walmart gets more DVDs than Blu and 4K. Which sort of puts me at ease with regards to the new things.

I hate Netflix. But I know 2 neighbors who get a kick out of sharing it with me. I'll still be streaming stuff on my iPad, computer, or the other 2 TVs in the house... just not in the HT which is reserved for movies I own.

I'm quoting the wrong post but I lost movies and asked for a refund and was denied. I was told the content owners can do whatever.

I have rental credits for the movies lost that's how iTunes works. Sadly last 2 times I tried to use them they changed me for the rental... now I think I have 4 iTunes rental credits but I have no idea how to use them.

The movies I lost did come back. But this isn't something that won't happen again.

Made for Netflix movies are no different than made for TV movies. Subscription streaming revenue is based solely on the number of subscribers. A new movie on Netflix may, or may not, change those subscription numbers. This upcoming Dwayne Johnson film is not likely to be in the league of a blockbuster like Avengers Endgame; it's just more filler for Netflix.

A first run movie makes the most money from a theatrical exhibition where each viewer buys a ticket to see the film once. Seeing as that activity has been temporarily sidelined, another lucrative source of revenue is to offer first run movies as premium video on demand titles where each rental brings in money. First run studio movies are not likely to debut on a service like Netflix because that does not generate per viewing revenue like PVOD, or even regular VOD, does.

Sales in the form of discs and EST are also available to the studios although this usually happens after the rental only period passes, but not always.

Lastly, claiming that most people do something is often a very poor reason for doing it one's self. If I did what most people do in this country, I would eat an unhealthy diet, not exercise enough, and I would be very overweight. Emulating the masses can lead one to becoming massive; I prefer to ignore the herd mentality in most instances.

You need to read the chain, already discussed. If a film purchased gets removed Apple can offer a refund as a remedy per their policy I specifically discussed.

All of those movies in the Infinity Saga box set can be bought individually. The only thing rare about what you describe is the packaging that contains those movies, not the movies themselves. If you are willing to pay what the secondary market demands, you can find nearly everything that was ever offered.

Walmart offers this title through their third party sellers. Walmart.com, like Amazon.com, offers lots of merchandise that they themselves do not sell; it is instead offered through third party sellers.

Well the value doesn't match up. The rental credit is capped at $5.99 also. And that may be posted somewhere but so far whenever I have trouble accessing iTunes content movie rental credits have been offered... They don't say it's because of my issue it's just them being nice.

One thing they (iTunes support) say is our ability to offer refunds diminishes over time.

But subject to Apple's determination, not that of what the consumer necessarily wishes.

Some of our members have commented that Apple sometimes refuses to offer compensation in any form and at other times the most that they offer is a rental credit. The point being that Apple decides in each instance what they will do, if anything, and they are clearly inconsistent about it. Their terms allow them to do whatever they please.

This collection also was a hassle to find/remove media efficiently. Not like the previous marvel collection that also had a thank you note included too. Your just paying for the package artwork really, as separates we’re going for 3 for $60 from target for awhile right after this package released.

A $5.99 rental credit after losing, say, a $15 purchase is really "nice" of Apple, alright.
