opinions? I've never seen it, but I'm considering blind buying the Blu. Is it still coming out on the 31st? I've heard rumblings that its been pushed back to an unspecified date.

It's still on Amazon for pre-order, with a release date of March 31st.

And yes, this is worth a blind buy. Nasty, nasty, nasty...

If you're into asian exploitation cinema that pushes to be as disturbing and graphic and possible then you'll probably dig it. I read it was still on schedual but I'm not going to say it was neccessarily a credible source..

Looking at my order doesn't look like it's coming out. Everything on my list except Ichi is getting ready to ship from Amazon.

Dude if you haven't seen it I'd recommend renting first. Its not the type of film that you can pick up on a whim, you have to be into this stuff.

I like Takeshi Mike's earlier stuff but this was, hmmm, really weird.

I also would suggest renting it first. I love it but you may not. It's got rape, extreme violence, torture, and other wierdness.

It is a very good movie probably needs 2 watches to fully understand the movie but it is nonetheless a really good watch.

I'm waiting on reviews before I buy it, but I would like to see it for the first time in HD, long as the transfer is good.

I had emailed Media Blaster / Tokyo Shock about Ichi The Killer on BD, and their response was the following:

"Hi,

Thank you for your interest in our titles. Please be advised that while we have removed Ichi from our schedule for now, we still plan on releasing it. It will be released within the upcoming months, however, the date has yet to be solidified. Please keep your enthusiasm, as we will be putting it out soon. Thank you again for all your support.

Media Blasters"

So while I'd love to be proven wrong, I'm almost certain the Amazon listing will come down, just like it did at DVD Empire, DVD Pacific, Hi Def DVD, etc.

+1 I was hoping this was released today but none of the stores around me have it and I see that amazon has changed the pre-order clause to say that it will be shipped in 1-2 months. DAMMIT.
