The EMO would be my choice !!
A sep.amp will sound much better ! the sound is more crisp & cleaner Than the sound just the receiver can produce !
Crazy, my new toy arrived today, the UPA-7. Spent the afternoon reworking some wiring and adding extender panels to my Salamander cabinet. As you described, I noticed immediately the crisp sound. I'm still processing with my Yamaha 1800, but all channels are driven through the Emotiva. Today starts my 30 day trial, but I think its a keeper. My system is so well balanced, I'm going to pass on the XPA-5/XPA-2 combination.

I was worried about any hum or hissing, quiet as a mouse. An ever so slight hum from the amplifier itself, but this is quite normal and to be expected.

Unfortunately, I'm running out of things to buy... Please.
