Talking Best Movie Ever

The Usual Suspects is my favorite movie ever. Especially the part at the end where everything comes together, I get excited every time, it never gets old.

Just saw Kevin Pollak doing stand-up Saturday night here in San Jose CA (where he's from), he told a wonderful story about the line-up scene, which became the poster and the cover of the DVD. Seems when they went to shoot the scene none of the actors could stop laughing or keep a straight face for hours, they just kept cracking each other up. So much so the director lost his mind and severely chastised them all, swearing at them and accusing them of ruining the days shoot. It wasn't until they went to do the editing that they saw the brilliance of what was shot and pieced together what is now the scene in the movie. Kevin said that every time he sees Gabriel Byrne and they talk about the movie, they look at each other and say "Can you F-ing believe that that days shoot became the icon of the movie? And they just crack up all over again!

Who is Keyser Söze?

Well Söze is an underworld kingpin whose ruthlessness and influence have a legendary, even mythical status among law enforcement agents and criminals alike.

One of my favorite movies of all time and one of the few I could talk about forever.

This is a movie that stays with you. It is a film that if someone I know has never seen it I force them to watch it.

It is a movie that when Keyser Soze is finally revealed, everyone thinks it was obvious. But they miss the point. At some point of the movie your brain thinks that each character may be Keyser Soze, so know matter who it really is in the end, you think you knew it all along. People who think it was obvious are the ones fooled the most.

It is a brilliant piece of film making that, no matter who I show it to, must be spoken about afterwards. I couldn't tell you how many of my friends would call me as they drove away from my house and say "one more thing...".

I hadn't watched it for a while and when I bought the blu-ray, I popped it in asap. It was like watching it the theatre again! The BR won't win any quality awards, but the improved resolution and sound just made the experience perfect.

"...and on that farm he shot some guys..."

Great lines in this movie. Spacey at his absolute best.

Probably one of Bryan Singers best films. Really enjoy the movie every time I watch it. Just wish that the blu-ray released in the U.S. wasn't so crappy (poor PQ and AQ and lack of extras), otherwise I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
