Really happy for those that missed this first time around, it's an amazing set!
I have the original, but if they add any meaty documentaries I'll pick it up, or at least pick up the Masque single disc.

This is great news.

It was assumed that the inclusion of the film WITCHFINDER GENERAL was what caused it to go OOP originally. Turns out it was the PBS intros and outros, which is a surprise. They are a very nice extra feature for the Price enthusiast, but hardly a deal-breaker when it comes to a collection like this. The commentaries and other features are more significant supplements.

It's too bad the PBS intros will be cut but I'm still glad to add this one to the collection at least!

Shout Factory may have just gotten the rights back to Witchfinder General for this release. Volume Two also had some of the PBS intros but that only recently went out of print along with several of their MGM titles. Volume One has been out of print for much longer. I think the intros were just something they couldn't get permission to include again.

That's certainly possible. I'm just a little skeptical that Shout! would go to the trouble and expense to re-license WG just so they could include it again in this set. But I don't follow their streaming content at all, so perhaps it would be worth it so that they could have streaming rights, as well?

It seems more likely that there was an issue with the Iowa PBS content. But it's all just speculation.

I'm pleasantly surprised that Shout! decided to re-issue this set. I hope it sells well for them. I need to examine what new extra features are being included on this version, to determine if there's enough original content to merit purchasing it again, as opposed to just getting the standalone disc of MASQUE. Between the Shout! and the Arrow UK discs, I think I'm pretty well set when it comes to bonus features on these movies.

Even though I own the original set, I will buy the single release of Masque. That's my favorite film from the set and that print damage at a key moment is brutal.

Holy schnikes I never thought I'd see the day, not coming from Shout again anyway. But it always struck me as odd that the subsequent volumes remained in print, and the films were MGM-licensed which is a major chunk of Shout's releases. As others have said, shame to lose the intros but if that's the price to pay, as opposed to the hundreds of dollars it's been selling at for years now, then it's more than worth it. It's especially made up for with the new restoration/cuts/extras. Cannot believe I will finally own this this year!

Same here, really enjoyed those on the second set. But since I slept on this one before, I'm very happy to buy it now. Fall of House of Usher was the first Price film I saw and I still love it.
