that's the magic price point for older 4K catalog titles- no matter how much of a classic it may be (Jaws and Alien being 2 recent examples)

So amazon has 2 versions up on preorder, a night blue version and day version. Which is which? One is 19.99 and the other 39.95.

That does not apply to Arrow or other boutique labels. You can't compare Universal and Fox catalog releases to Arrow releases. $20 for a brand new Arrow is super cheap (in the U.S.).

Can’t say for certain. But the description on this site says about it having variant artwork. So maybe they are the same but you are seeing the variant artwork? I assume the slip (o-ring) will be variant from the case artwork.

Not sure - never saw this as a description, but it got me excited!

The 4k is the cheaper one, the NON 4K Arrow version is the more expensive one

Same price at Best Buy, but you can't order it just yet. Only has coming soon

^ It's a low budget sci fi movie that introduced me to diesel. So it has a special place among his movies for me. All those stupid cars movies he did pale in comparison to his badass Riddick character.

Agreed. He also used leverage and told Universal that he would do another one (I forgot which F&F it was) if they gave him the rights to Riddick and the studio said yes. This is why we got that third Riddick movie and will most likely get a fourth film, too.

I've had this movie and the Chronicles of Riddick on both DVD and Blu-ray and have still never seen them. Maybe 4K's the charm?

I suppose the $40 version will be the typical Arrow box set + poster & booklet. A shame we cannot get that same edition for the 4K. Of course this is only my guess given the price point.

Nope. Already answered in a post above yours. The one that is $20 now is the 4K release. The one Amazon has for $40 is the bluray release. It appears Best Buy has made some pricing errors with the Arrow 4K releases of Pitch Black and Flash Gordon. Amazon is just matching BB.
