For anyone who's pre-ordered the Columbia Classics Volume 1 4k set, there has been some recent news regarding a recall occurring in the states -primarily through retailer Bullmoose, who's outright cancelled pre-orders due to the defect

I see most of this info starts here
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...327064&page=64

Hello, It has come to our attention that the initial run of the Columbia Classics Collection 4KHD box sets that we received are defective. The 'Lawrence of Arabia' disc included in the set was not mastered to 4KHD correctly. Some retailers have fulfilled orders already or are showing stock on hand. We are unsure who was notified about this issue in time.

Bull Moose feels strongly that we should not ship a product with a known defect. Since the studio has given us no indication that a corrected set will be produced, we are cancelling your order. Your card has not been charged. Hopefully the manufacturer will resolve the issue and we will be able to offer a corrected version in the future. We apologize for the inconvenience.
The Bull Moose Team
Updates as per suggestions from members

From the blu-ray.com review:
Quote:
Note: As I received the set there are missing supplements. Sony has sent this statement: "It has come to our attention that due to a technical error, the set includes an incorrect bonus materials disc for 'Lawrence of Arabia' with fewer pieces of content than intended. We are working with our operations team to determine a solution for consumers who are purchasing the collection, and will communicate that to you as soon as possible.

This review will be updated once the new disc arrives.
So, it seems Bullmoose may be mistaken about the fault in the product.

I'm now hesitant to keep my amazon.ca preorder.
This is a the 1st mentioning of a faulty 4K within the set... They may be wrong. We heard earlier that Sony neglected to include all extras for Lawrence of Arabia.

No mention of a faulty 4K disc in the movie's thread except that there's a bonus feature missing on the bonus disc. Actually, there have been reviews out and it apparently looks spectacular. I'm still getting it.

I think Bull Moose got it mixed up. All the reviews has no indication of any issue with the actual movie. The only problem is that one special feature disc is a combination of disc 2 and disc 3 from the previous release. Sony only put disc 2 on the disc. This is where the confusion comes in. Sony might have put it onto a 4K disc so that is where Bull Moose could have mixed it up.

That is so far, as I have read, the only issuse

Sony though has thought of pushing back the whole release to fix this issue instead of doing a disc replacement program.

So in the end, this might all get pulled anyways.

Bullmoose don’t seem to actually understand the problem and are overreacting to a few missing extras that there will be a disc replacement for. Personally it isn’t something I will care about and won’t even bother with the replacement. Was showing release date delivery but they shipped it yesterday with Canada Post which of course is met with a delay e-mail in the blink of an eye so probably won’t show up until later in the week.

My Columbia Classics was sent out by Canada Post, and immediately delayed as well.

EDIT: Turns out they're from third-parties and charging $6.45 for shipping.
That's what happens when you post while tired I guess.

Forgot to mention the $6.45 shipping as it is a 3rd party seller.

Oh crap, you're right.
Sorry, I was only looking at the main pages. (which don't mention anything about shipping or being from a third-party)

My last 3 Amazon orders have been sent by Canada Post and 2 of them are "delayed" as well. The first one had its label created June 1st and nothing since so in that case it is Amazon that is delaying the package for now.

I find it strange since most of my previous orders were shipped with Intelcom or Purolator. It seems like they are reverting back to Canada Post when they are at their most backlogged. I wonder if they are doing this simply to make Canada Post look bad and push forward Intelcom (or maybe even their own carrier eventually) further more when things will get back to normal?

Well so much for that as it just showed up early unexpectedly On top of the fact I figured CP would miss the release date estimate I also didn't expect them to be delivering on a Sunday so when the doorbell rang I assumed it was Intelcom with another order that is coming today and was surprised when I opened the box and found this inside even though the whole time I was thinking the box was overkill for the only thing I thought was coming today. Guess my Sunday plans just changed

EDIT: Unlike any other Sony releases I have got recently such as the Jumanji trilogy that didn't advertise digital copies but still had codes there are no digital codes for those wondering.

Not sure where to ask this question, but I stumbled across Roger Rabbit Blu-ray for $7.99, but also saw the "French" or is it bilingual version for $6.99. The $7.99 is now "no longer available", so I was wondering what the difference was, whether it was just the artwork on the case or is there something different with the disc itself?

Yeah, the "French" copy is just a bilingual cover. The discs inside are still identical to the English ones.

Not sure if Roger Rabbit even qualifies but also French versions tend to not have reward/digital codes either if thats your bag.

More about points, you could contact Disney Movie Insiders and see if your title is eligible. Had a similar case with my Chronicles of Narnia: LW&W copy that was a bilingual cover - no Disney Movie Rewards logo on the front despite other versions through Amazon (specifically, the blu-ray standalone), and no reward slip either. They were willing to give points for it, no fuss. It's worth the try if you're collecting points for titles.

Weird how that works. Mine was just shipped now and it's coming by intelcomm which means I'll have it tomorrow.

I was fearful that they might start holding them back due to the LoA Special features error, but my funds just got pulled so I'll hopefully get a shipping notice overnight for tomorrow. Pretty good haul this week.

Got my Columbia Classics collection today. Unfortunately the front cover has some of the gold leaf embossing rubbed off on the B and I. Haha, should I get a gold pen and fill it in? :P
