I've been wondering if a good number of Troma movies are actually becoming OOP or if the shortage is just temporary. Titles like Tromeo & Juliet, Poultrygeist, Sgt Kabukiman are turning into marketplace only on Amazon.
It just seems like a waste if that's actually happening for this small company's catalogue. But Lloyd is now consistently pushing their $5 a month streaming service.

I'd assume it's just supply chain issues -- they're a small label. All of the Troma titles are still available on their online store, best as I can tell. Several boutique labels have had streaming services for a while.

It's hard to tell with them. I've seen some blus of theirs vanish for a while, only to show back up again in full force. Considering Troma and Uncle Lloyd not being all there when it comes to physical media proper, I'd buy what you can that you would care about just to be safe. The Troma store is fully stocked it seems, but shipping is a b!tch.

Guess it must be a problem for some. It made me look up the Scarlett Edition in my collection and it shows $124.95 USED on Amazon Must be a lot of people doing drugs.

That's just scalpers hoping that people are scared that they're never going to be able to see the movie again and pay $125 to get a copy. I'm hoping that the run on physical copies is largely scalpers thinking the movie is going to get locked in a vault and never see the light of day again. Then when it doesn't come to pass, they'll be Karma's bee-yotch.

If they add context to the streaming version and the physical releases, it will be enough. There are a large number of films far more problematic than GWTW; it's only getting attention right now because HBO Max's been getting so much attention. Triumph of the Will's available on BD. Birth of a Nation's available on BD. Swingtime has a blackface number, but Criterion already gave it context, so it should be safe.

Bigger concern is that is two years from now a large percentage of all BDs available a year ago will be OOP, because Disney buying Fox, Twilight Time going out of business, Olive going into hibernation and Kino tightening its belt may only be the beginning, especially with the pandemic and the economy.

Dunno, but Tromeo and Poultrygeist are available for $7.95 right now at hamilton book, which is a great price. They also had Sgt Kabukiman, Toxic Avenger Collection, and probably a few others for cheap last week but I guess they sold out.

You can power search by Troma:

Yoo thanks. I only knew to do a regular search for Troma and it didn't come up with many results. I did see the new titles last week but I don't feel in such dire need of them to collect a handful of em quick. And I didn't even think to look in Troma's own official store to check their status. doop dee dooo.

Right, I own the limited Eureka set that was released before the Criterion. Was just pointing it out so it can be added to the thread.

Another reminder that there's a "pandemic" going on that's screwing up supply chains. Don't be quick to assume something is OOP, unless officially said so. I'd say if things don't show up in full force by Black Friday, it might be a safe bet that it is OOP. Weird times now and things aren't always as they seem.

Is the original King Kong OOP? It’s been sold out pretty much everywhere since even before the pandemic.

Sorry, I don't own either version, so have no idea.

Meanwhile, this also sold out at the KL & KL Studio Classics sites as a "While Supplies Last" title:

Separately, Banshee S4 is unavailable New anywhere (except for resellers).

After finding it unavailable new from Amazon, Target, WM, B&N, Deep Discount, etc. I placed an order with Bullmoose, who had to cancel after a month or so of being unable to locate a copy. I then purchased from an Amazon market seller, though I was stressed as the package was stuck at my local PO for a week before it finally arrived, and Amazon's only suggestion was that I take a refund.

Excluding one edition of S3, then none of the others are being sold directly by Amazon now. I have no idea if they've all gone oop though, I've not done the same research as I did for S4.

Pretty certain the seasons are slowly but surely going OOP. I randomly decided to prioritize buying them either back in January or late last year because I saw season 4 in particular was high and drying up (I bought my new copy from eBay because it was cheaper than the cheapest new copy on Amazon). I think it's worth picking up the seasons if you're interested in them.

Anyone find it interesting that one sale happened on some premium channel titles and now majority are OOP? I remember The Knick and Banshee being included along with others. Which reminds me...

Pretty certain the Gia blu-ray is OOP. Don't know if anyone has reported it yet (tried ctrl+f-ing the main list and nothing came up) but yeah. I meant to report it awhile ago but forgot about it.

Robocop 2 & 3 from Scream Factory are NOT OOP. Robocop 2 only was OOS at the SF shop over the weekend, but now it's available again. They can be deleted from the list on page 1.

Yep. Shout greys out their titles and you are no longer able to order once they are officially OOP. Otherwise, they are simply ordering more stock.
