Given social distancing, I'm seriously looking in to setting up my backyard as a little outdoor Theater so my friends and I can keep up our old movie nights
what I'm trying to decide is if I should just get a basic 1080p projector for that or spend a few hundred dollars more and get a 4K one that I could possibly use inside I do have a very small house though, so probably be at wherever I live next LOL. I do plan on getting a projector that is at least 3000 lumens |

If it's just for throwing a fun show for friends, then you might want to take a look at the following. It's $99, supports 1080p, 3800 LUX and comes recommended for outdoor use.

That's a super awesome deal! Thank you. I think I might be getting this one.
Slim Dude, yes projectors can be used outside if you can hook them up the right way. Plenty of people have built their own little mini backyard theater, and my city even used to do movies in the park every summer before the virus happened. |

The results were pretty damn impressive - a shame about the smoking/drinking scumbag mothers glued tot he their phones whom let their kids run riot and ruin everyone else's fun. Being literally next to the beach, it was odd to hear the waves lapping behind you as blaster-fire roared in front. Have fun! |

Not sure what you're looking for in an outdoor projector.
The only difference would be projectors designed for ruggedness in terms of temperature swings and moisture. You could probably just bring your projector indoors and save a lot of money unless you are making a permanent outdoor venue that has to withstand rain, dew, snow, etc. |

The primary idea of buying a projector in the moment is to allow for social distancing. My father lives me and is high risk, so I want friends in my backyard (which is nearly bigger than my house strangely).
But I love the idea of using it indoors myself. |
