Rogue One is the best. It would be great even if the other Star Wars films never existed.

In my opinion, of course.

Probably all the above

Note a John Carpenter fan so probably not has young as you think. Rankings on the Star Wars films switch all the time, love all Star Wars films. Grew up with original trilogy, but the prequel trilogy were the first SW films was able to get hyped over for their releases and first SW films saw in theaters.

Since we're doing rankings, here's mine as of today. I enjoy all of them although I'm not a particular fan of several parts of Last Jedi

1. TESB
2. New Hope
3. Rogue One
4. Jedi (Used to be #3 but the "Nooooo" pushes it down to #4)
5. TFA
6a. Revenge of the Sith (bash the prequels if you want but this is a good flick)
6b. RoS
8. Solo
9. TLJ
10. PM
11. Clones (the Anakin-Padme scenes are painful)

I have the prequels pretty low but I still think they get bashed somewhat unfairly. Yeah Jar Jar is awful and Anakin's character is often cringeworthy, but PM gave us Qui-Gon and Darth Maul, both of whom are great characters even if the latter is underutilized.

Maybe PM is a bit childish at times but these are space fantasies that should first and foremost appeal to kids. We can love or hate and debate them, but I think the most important thing is that kids enjoy them and their minds take in the grand fantasies of these sagas the way they did for us when we were young. To the extent that kids like PM then I'd say it serves its purpose.

That said, I kind of wish Lucas had waited a bit longer before making the prequels because (to me, at least) the cgi in Sith is so much better than Phantom and Clones.

I can never rank them because they all have something I enjoy in them, even Return of the Jedi - but this time around I enjoyed Phantom Menace, Revenge of the Sith and The Last Jedi as much as A New Hope and Empire. The other ones I still love obviously.

like i said to each their own. i just never seen TPM as someones #1 & Empire so low. not sure about ANH being that low either. it is for me on favorites though. my rankings would likely go two ways. what i think is best & what i favor more. for example i think ANH is the better movie but i enjoy ROTJ more. really love the Luke/Vader stuff & the score during that duel is epic. Star Wars movies to me have the best music of any movies. hits me in the feels every time.

Best
01 The Empire Strikes Back
02 Revenge of the Sith
03 A New Hope
04 Return of the Jedi
05 Rogue One
06 The Force Awakens
07 Solo
08 The Rise of Skywalker
09 The Last Jedi
10 Attack of the Clones
11 The Phantom Menace

Favorite
01 Revenge of the Sith
02 The Empire Strikes Back
03 The Force Awakens
04 Return of the Jedi
05 Rogue One
06 A New Hope
07 Solo
08 The Rise of Skywalker
09 The Last Jedi
10 The Phantom Menace
11 Attack of the Clones

the bottom two have always been that way but had to put TPM over AOTC in favorites cause Qui-Gon & Maul. that duel is my 2nd favorite. its not just Jar Jar i couldnt stand. its the gungans & especially Boss Nass as well. love Natalie Portman but i thought her voice as queen was annoying. the Jake Lloyd stuff didnt bother me like it did others. he was just a kid. so the yipee part is whatever. a lot want to say TFA is just a repeat of ANH like its a shot for shot remake. yes it has similarities but it also has its differences. a lot of people were put off by Palpatine being back in TROS. i was like WTF at first as well but when i thought about from what i remember didnt he just show up in those Thrawn books out of nowhere? dont remember much complaining on that. i know its a book which could make a difference & no heavy net opinions really around at the time but i dont see it really around now. though some kind of hint would be better. unless you wanna count the trailer lol. i like all these movies. easily my favorite franchise even though i would say comedy is my overall favorite genre. theres things in all these movies i dont like as well. whether its big or small but its not enough for me to disown any of them either. im also not one that say i dislike a sequel to a movie it ruins the original for me. i got some laughs out of people when the prequels came out that Lucas raped their childhood. the anger back then & today is insane. i never been that upset about any movie. if i didnt like i just move on. its just disappointing when the sequel isnt likable.

1) Return of the Jedi (my fav)
2) EMPIRE (objectively the best)
3) Revenge of the Sith (holy ground)
4) Star Wars (what else is there to say?!)
5) TFA (so much fun)
6) The Last Jedi (man, my opinion on this sure has changed since IX)
7) The Phantom Menace (pure nostalgia for me)
8) Rogue One (pure JOY for this)
9) Solo (sad we probably won't see this cast again. shockingly great)
10) Attack of the Clones (no defending most of this, but I love Dooku and the last 20 mins of this. 'Across the Stars' is a GOAT track)

I love all of Star Wars. Animation for me is the best. Clone Wars and Rebels have my heart.

...

XX) Rise of Skywalker --- I could go on and on why I don't like this movie. All of the Sequel Trilogy's problems are made even more evident by this movie. This is not even a movie. It's a checklist of scenes made by a committee to offend the least amount of people and move the plot along. Of course I bought this and own the steelbook. But I really have no desire to watch this for a LONG time.

i like the Clone Wars series. especially the arc with Maul & Savage Opress. i still watched Rebels but it was really hit & miss for me. mostly miss by far. dont care to see that stuff ever again tbh. it was better than Resistance at least.

It's just me I see all these high rankings for Rogue One...yeah I enjoyed it's a great side entry in the saga and didn't offend me in any way but I would never rank a side entry above an episodic film. To be honest Solo was more enjoyable to watch it was a really fun movie

I think it’s fine to rank either side story amongst the episode, I agree that solo was better than rouge one. I know a lot of people love rouge one but prior to scarrif, it was imo forgettable, dull and boring. Everything on Scarriff until the end was pure fun, enjoyment and some of the best scenes. I hate ranking this film higher on my list Just due to the last 20-30 alone. The end in my opinion prevents it from being in the very bottom tier of ST films

Well, since we're doing rankings:

1. Return Of The Jedi
2. The Empire Strikes Back
3. Revenge Of The Sith
4. The Phantom Meance
5. Attack Of The Clones
6. Star Wars (Not to say it's a bad film though)

Solo & TROS are two of the movies i need to see more. i like em but ive only watched them twice while all the others except TLJ ive seen countless times. TLJ ive watched at least 10 times by now. TLJ & TROS made me feel conflicted after i first seen them while i liked the others right away. funny seeing as i have those 2 above AOTC & TPM. i found Rogue One engaging from the beginning. especially Ben Mendelsohn. love the way he played the part throughout. the beginning, the sarcasm, his interactions with Grand Moff Tarkin & the lone interaction with Vader was good. the droid K2 was funny. i liked the 2 small battles before they got to Scarif. it also has one of my all time favorite scenes in the series when Vader goes thunderdome on those poor bastards. i rewinded that part back several times while watching once. i even started laughing at myself for doing that & how much joy i got out of it. i remember reading how he tore through some Wookies in a book immediately after events from ROTS & thought at the time i want to see Vader doing that on screen. people can crap on that for being fan service but idc. it was epic. i do wish Solo didnt bomb so bad. it is a joy to watch & i would have liked to see the sequel(s) to it.

When it comes to Star Wars and rankings I can never settle on a final order (no pun intended). A New Hope will always be at the top spot for me personally though, I can say that much

I'll play:

1. ANH - Without it, we wouldn't be wasting our time on this board, much less have this hobby, I'd be willing to wager.
2. TESB - The sequel that betters its predecessor
3. Tie: Rogue One & The Last Jedi - Rogue One brought the grit and reality of war to the Star Wars universe. The Last Jedi took some major risks, and I ate up every second of it.
4. ROTJ - Neatly wrapped up the OT.
5. The Phantom Menace - May of '99 was awesome. I didn't find Jar Jar to be as problematic as some. The off-sounding dialogue was more of an issue for me. (Lucas had a brain fixation - "Are you brain dead?" "Are you brainless?" "Day tink day brains so big." The flanneled one was bringing the creepy factor even in Episode I - "Many things will change once we reach the Capitol, Ani. But my caring for you won't." "I care for you, too...") And that Maul-Jinn-Kenobi duel is still the best of all the films.
6. The Force Awakens - A decent entry that brought Star Wars back to the masses.
7. Solo - Had LucasFilm hired Ron Howard right out of the gate, this may have been a stellar flick. As it is, it's still a fun little romp.
8. The Rise of Skywalker - For me, it failed to cap off the Skywalker Saga with any real sense of satisfaction. The powers that be caved to the demands of toxic fandom and the proof is in the sloppy ret-conning. It's still Star Wars and I enjoy it. Just not as much as I hoped I would have.
9. Episode III: Revenge of the Green Screen - The story we all wanted to see about Anakin's fall to the Dark Side packed some emotional punch, but it wasn't enough to rise above the wooden performance of Christenson, the awkwardly written dialog ("Then love has blinded you?" "Only a Sith deals in absolutes." "Anakin, you're breaking my heart."), and the cheesy lines that would 15 years later provide fodder for the Meme-Zsars. ("I have the high ground." "nnnnNNOOOOOOoooo...!")
10 Attack of the Clones - Sand. Anakin reciting his own personal "Stalker Manifesto." Yoda as played by Sonic the Hedgehog.
