United Front Games the studio who made the game is now defunct and closed. Plenty of stories that came out saying this game had development and funding issues and nearly got canceled a few times.

Square Enix owns the publishing rights and are probably not going to invest in a sequel. Only hope would be if a new studio & dev takes over like what happened with Mafia II & Mafia III. Mafia II was made by 2K Czech and stayed dormant for awhile until Hangar 13 studios got the rights to make Mafia III from Take 2. Mafia III turned out to be pretty terrible.

Holy crap! Late to the party but I just got this old ass game this week and it’s a blast! I enjoy it more than GTAV. I know it’s not fancy graphics-wise, but the fighting and driving is better!! Man, I wish that sequel came to fruition

Yeah, this game has some cool ideas and the fighting was a lot of fun. It was cool you could cuff random people in the game. I should replay it.

The definitive packaging is cool, but the game is not quite the remaster I was hoping for, with a lot of textures looking unchanged and blurry from the PS3 version, on a PS4. I think this game is unplayable on a PS5 if not mistaken. I haven't tried it.

The PS3 game was the first open-world game that I played and finished. I enjoyed it and it was fun.
