It might be cheaper on ebay; I'll have to look there before deciding.
Did you say you were region free? If so, I will give you a shout if I see it for good price.

Yes, I am region free; it's the only way to be.

Thanks for keeping an eye out for it, but I don't think anyone else has ever released this movie. It's a Twilight Time title that I let slip thru my fingers.

I see. I did similar with The Mad Magician 3D, thankfully it came out in U.K. so I got lucky. Did you grab The Maze 3D? I hear it’s outstanding in 3D.

You can bet if the digital only PS5 far out sells the physical media PS5 then the next iteration of PlayStation won't have a disk drive.

Yes, I bought The Maze 3D, but I haven't watched it yet.

I am very fond of all of the vintage 3D movies. I am always impressed by how well they were able to create impressive 3D effects way back when the pterodactyls still flew overhead.

It will. Sony like money and won’t leave it on the table. Even six or seven years from now, the world won’t have fibre. Look at the size of COD this year? 180 gigs before latest update. Data caps, slow broadband etc.. will ensure that a disc version will at least exist next time around. I think the split this gen will be 60/40 in digitals favour over the seven years. Even if I’m wrong and the vast majority go for digital, even 10% of a (expected) lifetime customer base of 100 million or more is VERY significant.

Thanks for your efforts just the same, but the seller appears to be quite suspect.

Oddly, the listing says that it ships from China/Hong Kong/ Taiwan, but that it is located in Rodos, Greece. He offers the disc only, no case, no artwork, and the same holds for all of his listings. He sounds like just another ebay bootlegger.

I don't use Ebay for that reason.

The seller apparently ships this item from a post office approx. 5100 miles away from the item's current location. Sounds legit.

It comes with no case or artwork, either. Disc only. When this guy makes a sale, he probably emails his "friends" in Hong Kong to make a bootleg copy and ship 'er out.

I checked his other listings and they are the same: disc only, item located in Greece, ships from China/ Hong Kong/ Taiwan. He seems to specialize in 3D bootlegs.

I reported the seller on suspicion of trafficking in bootlegs, but I doubt anything will come of it. Even if they shut him down, he'll just pop up again under another account.

I know we have a lot to worry about right now, but here is something else that could have caused those problems with Samsung BD Players. Article from Sound & Vision:

This will also cause issues with streaming devices per the article. Roku already had related issues and they mention that Smart TV's often ship with certificates that are already old, which could cause them to stop working as well. It will affect almost every connected device, not just BD players.

Just another reason not to like being dependent upon an internet connected device for one's entertainment.

To be fair, this Samsung debacle is the first of its kind that I have seen affect internet connected disc players. If this kind of problem becomes more widespread to include "smart" TVs, I will not hesitate to disconnect mine from the internet altogether. I can do periodic searches for firmware updates from the comparative safety of my computer.

Internet connected tech gear with suicidal tendencies; is this the fabled streaming future that we were told to eagerly embrace?

I could easily unplug it all from the internet and it would not hinder the enjoyment of my disc library in the slightest.

Imagine the meltdown if millions couldn’t get Netflix?
