Hi,
In terms of the precious materials running out, I actually think phones are sort of good enough now and people should keep them longer than they do. Would be better to innovate the software side and keep the hardware side the same I think |

Bitrates are an objective measurement and the only reason that you dismiss them is because streaming has very low bitates compared to the equivalent disc format. At other times in the past you have claimed that streaming's bitrates were something to brag about and that they will only improve, but here you are now undermining their significance. You flip flop more than a fish out of water. Last edited by Vilya; 07-08-2020 at 01:32 AM. |

![]() My fourth grade teacher in 1972 told my class that the world would end for us hoomans before, or by, the year 2000 due to overpopulation. The last time that I looked the world, and we peeples, are still here and this particular hooman is quite comfortable. |

![]() Responding to your less than illuminating comments isn't exhausting at all; if anything it has become reflexive as I expect little else from you. No one else here repeats the same nonsense that you do. You would be far more interesting if you could at least offer some new absurdities once in awhile for variety's sake. As JohnAV has stated, Best Buy does not demo 4K discs, so you still haven't seen one being played and thus you can not compare a 4K disc's performance with that of a 4K stream. The only 4K discs that you have seen are still in their shrink wrapped packaging. Stop being a ![]() As Penguin mentioned, watching a 4K TV under store showroom conditions is NOT how you evaluate a 4K TV, yet alone the content being shown on it. This is common knowledge and your not knowing this fact illustrates just how uncommonly uninformed you are. After your 11 years on this forum, you think that watching a TV under a store's stadium lighting is a fair test. ![]() For what feels like Groundhog Day the movie, streaming has NOT improved in several years. Bitrates and codecs are unchanged. The only thing that may have changed in this time is you having possibly developed the onset of dementia. Numerous people here have told you the same thing, but you just repeat your fantasy as if it were your first time telling it. Streaming removes and censors content; the streaming experience sucks more and more everyday. Last edited by Vilya; 07-08-2020 at 05:49 AM. |

I hope that they separate PVOD from regular VOD; I am curious to see how much was spent on those $20 rentals.

Now all of a sudden you are trying to tell us that you have seen a few seconds of a 4K disc being demonstrated at a Best Buy store when you bought your TV "a few years" ago and you are now trying to pass this off as your 4K disc evaluation. ![]() The point remains that you have not seen a 4K disc in a home setting under normal lighting and with correct TV settings. Further, you have not then compared a 4K stream of the same movie viewed under the exact same circumstances. In other words, you have made no comparison of a 4K disc to a 4K stream. Stating that a 4K stream looks "just like" a 1080p blu-ray is not much to brag about even if it were true. You are deliberately misrepresenting your experience with 4K discs; the fact is that you have none. Last edited by Vilya; 07-08-2020 at 05:47 AM. |
