With other New announcements still to be made on the Friday set, is there a chance in hades that we could see
--4k scans on some of the other movies?
--Unedited versions?
--Crystal lake Memories? If no Crystal Lake, is it still worth picking that up with all the spec features in this set?

i see people are still saying its limited to 13.000 copies, and shout isn't just saying so anymore

-Go buy this now. It won't be included in the set but is currently only $13.13 at Amazon and is hands down the best documentary you'll ever find for the franchise. Even with the included features this doc is worth owning if you like hearing stories of behind the scenes details on each film.

Shout aren’t dumb enough to leave all that extra money on the table so I’m guessing the 13,000 limit was removed since they know how popular this release will be. Especially around Oct when sales will no doubt increase because of Halloween.

I'm going to wait until we get the final details for all the special features, before i pull the trigger on the Crystal Lake Memories blu ray from Amazon. I know it's not very likely that it will be included at this point, but there's no harm in waiting until it's official.

then I hope its like the halloween set, which eventually went out of print once everyone who wanted a copy was able to get one or do it like the dawn of the dead box set in the uk, where it's a timed limited release, and i think once it comes out, they won't be releasing any more
this way everyone gets one , and the movie label can make a whole lot of extra money

They'd have to add 2 discs to the set for it to be included. It's definitely not happening. That said, it has been cheap for quite a while now so there really isn't a huge need to buy it right away. Although... watching the documentary could make for a great 11 hour hype session to the deluxe set being released.

Hell... I'd been wanting to watch this again myself recently and I think I just gave myself reason enough to do so.

EDIT: Also if you don't already own "Never Sleep Again" then you need to buy that as well. It's arguably the better Doc and a great companion piece to the Nightmare films.

There are still plenty of people who missed out on the Halloween deluxe set. Not everyone has been collecting blu rays since day 1.

Yeah i need to get that Nightmare doc as well, i know there's a double feature blu ray with both of them also. But i purposefully don't own any NOES on blu ray yet. I keep waiting for that deluxe boxset from SF

Last thing i heard about Fade to Black was at the H40 convention, when i spoke to Irwin Yablans, who said he was talking with someone from SF earlier that day about releasing the movie on blu ray. But this was 2 years ago, so who knows what happened?

After Halloween and now F13 (and all the other great Box sets) I'm personally on board for buying/re-buying anything/everything they throw my way in these kinds of collections. Nightmare remains a top priority for me and honestly the only other set I NEED from them, but I'd be down for pretty much anything.

OK, this straw-man virtue signaling about "scalpers" is really getting to be a bit much. I haven't seen a single person post or even imply that they had a problem with a possible quantity change due to resale value.

The only thing people have pointed out is that there was a rush to buy directly from Shout! today (and paying the extra $50 as well as making payment upfront) because of a) the limited number of posters/lithos, but even more so from what I see posted here, b) the 13,000 #.

Surely you can see that some people felt pressured to buy directly from Shout! and pay the extra to secure a copy instead of waiting it out for Amazon/Best Buy or ordering from some place else cheaper at risk of getting a cancelled order later.

That said, yup, people can cancel, so no need for anyone to get bent out of shape. And, as of yet, no one has - the only people I see "seething" are those who are making a production about hating people who resell things for whatever reason (the actual number of "scalpers" who bought with intent to resell on the original set was low, it was available for better part of a year, it was not artificially limited, it simply went OOP because deals expired with the multiple companies involved and natural demand drove prices up).

I heard the version of Terror in the Aisles that's on that disk, is missing some scenes.

I'll just wait for decent sale to pick up the new blu ray.
