And if anyone else has read Grann's book, it's a $60M-$75M concept. |

I'm more excited about this than The Irishman.
This may be Scorsese's version of films such as There Will Be Blood, The Searchers, and Schindler's List. Easily the most important and anticipated film of 2021. |

Yeah, I guess he'll lead the McKay film, or another project (maybe PTA??) for a 2021 release, and Killers of The Flower Moon for 2022.

What's worrisome is that the subject matter is important, but Scorsese, DiCaprio, and DeNiro all want big paydays.
None of them are hurting for money. |

The problem with Scorsese, De Niro and DiCaprio is the emphasis is on them in place of the story. The story, and related book, is so phenomenal, the above become a distraction, not an asset. That said, if we're getting the Scorsese responsible for The Age of Innocence, all in. If we're getting the Scorsese of The Irishman, my preference is elsewhere. My first choice would have been Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter, Mud and Loving), hopefully with both McConaughey and Michael Shannon in tow. Taylor Sheridan would have been another exciting choice to write, and possibly also direct; if not him, teaming up with Villeneuve once again (Sicario). While not a preference, Malick, perhaps with Pitt on board, would have been a worthwhile trip. |

Robbie Robertson said months ago, that they had pushed it back to next spring (2021). That was just the start of filming. The way things are going with the COVID stuff, who knows? It may never happen, or we aren't going to see it for several years, at least. Shame they didn't get it filmed, at least, before all this started. |

Imagine thinking that The Age of Innocence is some sublime achievement over The Irishman (and I like TAOI a lot.)
