Default PS5 Final Fantasy VII Rebirth - 2023

Final Fantasy 7 Remake PT2 has entered full development as of April 2020

Quote:
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 has entered full development, and game director Tetsuya Nomura wants to deliver the game "as soon as possible."

The news arrives thanks to a 15-page interview from an upcoming issue of Japanese games magazine Famitsu, details of which were posted to the Ryokutya blog and later translated by Twitter user Aitaikimochi.

According to the blog source, full development has started for the second part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, following the first part's release in April of 2020.

Aitakimochi pulled another interesting quote from the same interview, which details Nomura's intentions for the second part's release. "We know that everyone wants the next installment quickly. We would also like to deliver it as soon as possible. Since we were also able to see the line of quality from the first installment, we hope to make the next installment even better in quality that can make for an even better experience," the quote reads. "We would to get it out as soon as possible, so please wait for it. I think we can clearly convey the direction when we officially announce the next installment."

Perhaps more interestingly, executive producer Yoshinori Kitase also explained that "The new story of Final Fantasy 7 has only just begun." That contrasts a little with Kitase's previous comments, when he said the original game's story wasn't being drastically changed.

So hopefully we'll see Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2's reveal in the near future. We reported back in early July that the game's development was "affected by COVID-19," and was subsequently being worked on from home. We gave the first part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake an 8 back in April, noting that it "breathes exciting new life into a classic."

Sadly forums dont allow twitter embedding bummer...

I hope there's a full on upgrade released of Part 1 so the graphics remain consistent with the later releases. I didn't properly experience FF7 in the vacuum of the PS1 and by then you're spoiled by PS3 era graphics and FFX from PS2s era as a reference point rather than traditional top down turn based. So hoping to get the Remake as a new way to experience the story.

I cant imagine there wouldn't be. Remake is supposed to be coming to the PC next year, I would imagine that all can carry over as an upgrade for the PS5 as well.

If you have never played FFVII you should get the PS4 port version for 10 dollars and truly go through everything you will see just how much has changed between the original and Remake. I play the original yearly it is fantastic.

I doubt a ps5 version would look any different, it already looks like how it’s supposed to do imo

the ‘sacrifices’ were made in the design of the game, though (hidden loading screen)

1. Full 4K
2. 60fps
3. Increase texture quality and consistency of texture quality/eliminate texture pop in
4. Decrease loading times

You're good to go!

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 Will Bring Back Classic Mode

Quote:
Square Enix’s Naoki Hamaguchi has revealed during the latest issue of Famitsu magazine that Classic Mode will be returning in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2.

While this is good news for fans who preferred this mode to the new battle system, Hamaguchi-san also spoke about how gamers were eager to play Classic Mode in the normal difficulty setting, as it was only available on easy in the first part of the remake project.

As a result, there’s a chance that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 may feature the ability to play Classic Mode without lowering the difficulty.

I'm most excited for Vincent. He probably won't appear until later in the game, unless things are changed around.

According to insiders no new info on FFVII Remake Pt 2 @ 2021 E3 this year

Quote:
Following the release of last year's highly successful RPG Final Fantasy VII Remake, a large number of fans are eagerly waiting to see what Square Enix has planned for the next installment in the series. Unfortunately, if you were hoping that such a reveal related to Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 might transpire within the coming month, it seems as though you'll have to keep waiting just a bit longer.

According to one industry insider that goes by the name Navtra, Square Enix isn't planning to show off anything related to Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 within the next few weeks at E3 2021. "Nope, I don't think it will be there," they said simply in response to one user who suggested that Square might opt to unveil the project in a formal capacity during E3. Although the door could be left open just a bit in regard to such an announcement, it doesn't sound like one we should get our hopes up for.

I’m kinda glad. It should take another 2 years at least to get this out the door. They have FFXVI to show off plus the rumoured PS5 exclusive Final Fantasy spin off from Team Ninja that could be announced so FFVIIR2 would be overkill.

Well, maybe not at E3 but that's not to say we won't see anything at all about it, perhaps TGS?

How do you figure Pt 2 went into production a year before Pt 1 came out. By now we should be seeing a part 2 trailer. I would imagine it gets released next year alongside FFXVI

I expect it mid or late 2022, more so late. I think we would have seen a teaser at this year’s E3 if not for COVID.

Probably correct as far as the teaser goes. Hopefully you're right about Part 2's release, as there's little excuse for it to not be out by then. I know COVID set them back, but it shouldn't have set them back to 2023. If not, then the jokes about the story not finishing until the PS6 will turn out to be true.

This is Square-Enix we're talking about. Part 2 won't be with us for a very long time.

I forgot we had a thread for Part 2, guess I'll start posting here instead of the Intergrade thread...

Square Enix filed a trademark for "Unnumbered", made public today. Seeing as we're likely an hour and a half out from an announcement for Part 2, could it be titled "Final Fantasy VII Remake: Unnumbered"?

https://www.reddit.com/r/FFVIIRemake...numbered_made/

Edit: Guess this trademark is unrelated

I’m still convinced that the original game was Aeriths Vision and that the remake is her trying to make sure that vision doesn’t come to fruition.

The theory goes something like this

Quote:
Minor spoiler ahead if you never played the OG. Not really a spoiler since it's just a theory at this time, buuuut it makes the most sense; Bottom line, in the Remake the OG never happened. Never happened anywhere in the multiverse.

It was just a vision Aerith had while communing with the Life Stream via the broken mako pipe in the alley at the start of the game.
The foundation for this is in 3 points:

1. In the OG opening we get that close up of Aerith. Her eyes are open from the start of it.

2. At the end of the OG, we get that same close up of Aerith, but her eyes are closed and she opens them when the camera gets in front of her.

3. At the start of the remake, as we get the close up on Aerith, her eyes are closed, and she opens them when the camera is in front of her.

Conclusion: The Aerith we see at the opening of the Remake is the Aerith from the END of the OG. The OG was just a vision and never really happened.

This is why "changing Fate" is the overlaying theme of the Remake.
This is supported by many subtle things Aerith says and does through the Remake, but most prominently, when Tifa asks Aerith to save Marlene before the S7 plate falls, that dialogue is COMPLETELY different from the OG. In the OG, Tifa tells Aerith Marlene is in 7th Heaven and asks Aerith to save her.

In the Remake, from the time Tifa and Aerith are together, Tifa mentions the bar. Tifa mentions Marlene. But seperately. She never once says Marlene is at 7th Heaven. Now when Tifa asks Aerith to save Marlene in the Remake, all Tifa says is
"Aerith, there's a bar in the center of town. 7th Heaven..."
Aerith CUTS HER OFF with
"MARLENE! GOT IT" and runs off.
There was no valid reason, no context, for Aerith to know that's what Tifa was gonna ask. She could have been asking for a weapon, an ally, anything. But Aerith knew it was Marlene... Because she already saw this in her vision.

This is also why Aerith is a bit more aggressive in the Remake. The OG didn't exactly end well. Aerith wants to avoid that fate and save everyone.
