Dirty diapers... at various times, I have discovered them in places they should not be. Not wet diapers mind you, but the straight up dirty bombs.

On seats, under seats, cup holders, popcorn bags/tubs, soda cups, 3d glass recycle bin, and just chillin on the floor in the halls (Not near any of the trash cans).

Mind you this is not an every day, or even monthly occurrence, so it is nowhere near a major issue. It's just gross.

Was sold out at I believe 25% capacity. Concession would only take debit/credit, but otherwise very clean and quick moving.

Worldwide Box office = $2.8 billion
Combined BD and DVD sales = $110 million
VOD = N/A

Budget = $356 million
Marketing = $150 million

This movie is a huge financial win for Disney. Btw, look at how even for a movie as big as Endgame, the home video sales are dwarfed by the theatrical box office.

Straight to video = your movie had no hopes of making money at all in the first place.
From the very beginning, everyone here has told me that streaming, PVOD, digital is the future of the movie industry and now you're saying it isn't. Movie theaters are the dinosaur and the Trolls World Tour movie on PVOD gave movie studios a taste of what's out there. $100 million in three weeks of PVOD sales is just a benchmark and expect more studios to dip their feet into that water. Future films will prove even more successful. Have a little vision.

By the way, those numbers are only what Universal Studios is telling the media. Haven't you heard? Movie studios always claim that every movie they produce loses money. Peter Jackson exposed this nasty truth when New Line Cinema/Warner Brothers refused to pay him anything from the box office revenue generated from the movies.

On paper, no Hollywood movie has made money. So, I don't trust the numbers that Universal reported on. I expect that the numbers are much higher, to get out of paying the cast and production crew as well as the actors. Just like Disney was caught over-inflating ticket sales for Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker.

All that can be the future of home movie industry. It wouldn't take over the theatrical experience without some major changes to the entire industry. I can't comment on what companies are saying regarding movie profits, because..well that doesn't matter to me (I've said it here somewhere this website uses/cares about Box office numbers too much). A movie can make nothing at the box office and still be considered a success in different ways.

Whatever way you cut it, streaming is just another home entertainment media format - it's essentially just TV on demand - and movie theaters have survived alongside and in many cases outlived every single one of them since radio in the past 101 years, regardless of world events, economic crises or evolving technology.

1. It's kind of an unstated rule that once the film starts, you can switch seats....course it gets messy if someone shows up late.

2. Once again, teenage ushers actually giving a rip about their job and watching what seats are being used? Your mad if you think they care. They won't even go in and warn talkers/texters over fear of the customers.

I paid for my ticket, had my hands sanitized and got temperature checked (all while wearing a mask, of course). When I entered the room, most of the seats were crossed off with yellow tape, so as I sat on a seat, the row in front and behind me, were crossed off. In the big room, it was only four people, including me, and man, two had strong reactions during some scenes, heh. It kinda made the film a bit more enjoyable.

Trailers (man, it's been a while):

Tenet
The Outpost
The Rental
Commando 3
Greenland
Harriet
I don't know man, all those hoops and the risk, to see a movie that should've been released straight to DVD and a bunch of trailers for garbage...not to mention, one of those movies has been on DVD since January!!!

Sounds like the whole experience isn't worth it. I consider the trailers part of the movie and knowing places are showing crap trailers would just anger me.

Heck, if I saw a movie before Covid and it had trash for trailers, I'd leave me in a bad mood before the movie even started.

What did they offer? Standard fare? Was there butter for the popcorn, and, if so, did you have to pump it yourself?

One of the benefits of seeing movies at the earliest matinees available is that they very rarely come close to selling out, so I can pay for one specific seat but move anywhere I want in the room if some idiot sits right in front of/behind me. I will, of course, stay in my assigned seat on the rare occasions when I have to see an evening show, and it's a sell-out or close to it.

I slightly agree on the first paragraph. If anyone wants to see Unhinged, you can either wait for home release (slightly fits better) or theaters.

Commando 3 looks weak, lol.

My family basically just stopped going to theaters when theaters started doing assigned seating. We want decent seats but we like to go to theaters sporadically within a half hour or hour of the movie starting. When it was first come first serve that worked well for us but with assigned Seating the stars almost never align for us to go to the movies.

The ticket system somtimes requires it because it doesn’t want orphan seats and basically everyone in the theater would prefer orphan seats adjacent to themselves.

I love assigned seating. It has (for me, at least) eliminated the people who show up late and have the nerve to ask me to scoot down. That used to happen quite a bit and it was very annoying.

The experience will survive, but the quality of movies themselves is going to get worse. Even pre-COVID, The Marvel-ization of cinema did a number on non-Blockbusters, comedies and dramas alike, and even the Russos talked about having issues getting non-Avengers projects greenlit, much less seen.

Theaters will always be around, but like with video games, all of the storytelling, innovation, boundary pushing, risk-taking and artistic and creative freedom will be happening at home.

In other words, they contributed to the problem.

Surprised theatres didn't go to assigned seating sooner since it probably boosts ticket sales, especially to families and large groups.

They aren’t. They’re non marvel movies have been mediocre or awful. Their script for Extraction was the weakest link. We knowMarvel movies Succeed because of Feige and Co and not solely the directors.

And the properties themselves. With the over abundance of material to draw from you have to be a terrible writer to not be able to make at least a decent movie out of these characters.
