Had to move my collection a floor down because there's another baby on the way.
Need to do some shuffling, but already very happy with this. Most of the films are
organised with dividers by director, genre, language or label.

I really like your dividers.

I've considered doing something similar to that, but I was just going to do different genres and sub-genres.

Love everything about this, from the choice of shelving, to the dispersion of titles, to the dividers and general feeling of a film library.

This is my collection with around 250 titles. I started to buy Blu-rays in 2010. Since last year I have really begun to collect them and buy a lot .

My collection is sorted after genre. Some new purchases still need to be sorted.

I hope this works with pasting these links from Drive. I wanted to upload the pictures directly, but the size limit is so small..

Bloody thing....couldn't get it to embed properly.

Either way....took both my Billy bookcases apart over the weekend, and moved the central fixed shelf. (So it can be done)
This was the one causing all the issues as it wouldn't allow for adding another shelf in and had a big gap above it.
Aside from moving the fixed shelf I also had to drill new pilot holes for 3 of the remaining 7 shelfs, but again this was straightforward

Now it's all moved I've added another shelf in to each one, which increases capacity by 51 standard 14mm cases in each
Also added a narrow one between them

Do you have a link to your shelving system? it looks great.

It's a neat solution as long as the walls are plumb and straight. If not then the twin slot shelving solution is reliable. Ask me how I know.

His post is 5 plus years old too.

I'm on my way to upgrade to twin slots, I just need the oomph to start.

The OP is still posting, I checked before quoting.

I did find some nice solutions, I'll post links later.

I like the idea of ready made units but with having 9 foot ceilings I have fitted in 13 shelves. Can't reach the top two without a step but every inch of wall is taken up.

And I found out the hard way that a decent rawlplug is necessary. It's surprising how much a difference it makes.

I really like the one above, but they're relatively pricey. Over 2 metres high a metre wide with 12 shelves is just over £300.

So that's 4 + a half shelf and that would be over a grand? Nah, that's crazy. Two hundred ish for timber and that wall would be floor to ceiling shelving.

Eight 2 by 4 inch x 8 foot high uprights and several 8 foot by 2 inch battens.
