The remaining copies of "Blue Monkey" were in the warehouse in Beirut that exploded a few days ago.

They'd be responsible for financial compensation, but that doesn't necessarily mean more slipcovers will be manufactured.

You so silly. Beirut was a fictional place. You watched too many 80's one-man-army action movies

That's what I'm wondering, are we actually buying this? Or is Dark Force trying to just create more demand? Either way, I'll probably finally bite the bullet this week and order this and Primal Rage.

Hopefully my rant about the $40 cost is what's driving this. They can remove the slips due to "an accident" and sell copies without the slip for $10 less while then charging more for the slipped versions seeing as now they are even more rare, AND can still sell those accident inflicted slips on ebay or through other vendors without the film the way Vinegar Syndrome does and make even more money. Everyone wins!

[eliminates free shipping threshold] -> [demand for BM decreases] -> [sales of BM take a nose dive] -> [claim BM slips accidentally destroyed] -> [prays for increased BM sales]

You couldn't be more wrong rdodolak. General Tom in reporting for Dark Force Entertainment on Friday August 7th. BLUE MONKEY has been the biggest release of the year for Dark Force and the volume of sales has been so heavy we have had to limit the sales due to Covid restrictions. As for the recent accident with the inventory you can rest assured the Demon is extremely upset with the entire situation and quickly trying to access the true damage which is suspected to be very significant. This is NOT a marketing gimmick to generate sales. There will be a lot less copies available now with the slipcover. Likely we will be compensated for the accident but it is very unlikely that the damaged ones will be replaced due to the extremely high cost of doing a run with the custom slipcovers. We will have a lot more details on the situation shortly.

Kinda hard to accept this when there's a WWE logo at the bottom of that video clip (even if it is just a gif)

For awhile I thought some of the shenanigans of this label were pretty funny. Now I see it for the joke that it is.

We don't even know the extent of the damage yet and won't know until next week. All we know is it involved HALF of the remaining BLUE MONKEY inventory and it is likely that a large number are damaged. Fortunately we have some left in the Dark Force storage units in Los Angeles and those will be available for sale when the store reopens this weekend. We should have a lot more details on this very tragic accident next week.

Excuse us jdw89 we know it is totally outrageous that an accident could even be conceivable in the perfect world of cult home video.

I think he means just selling slips individually in general, as VS has done on their own site. Although VS has done this simply for many of their popular early releases, largely due to customer demand. In the end, they make an added bit of well earned revenue, but it's always been about pleasing their fans.

Absolutely absurd... this is my first time buying anything from Dark Force, and it’ll likely be the last.
