Really impressed with Walmart after they cancelled my original order due to a system issue. Just got my shipment notification and they are sending it FedEx overnight. I will have it by tomorrow

My copy finally showed up at the local PO (along with 5 other late deliveries). Mailperson is gonna be busy tomorrow!

It really does suck. I put my order in with Amazon. I'll get it much later than most but I don't have to deal with USPS delivery.

Yeah, it's bad, especially the last few weeks. Now Amazon prime delivery is 1-2 weeks for US business customers - I'm having to order a lot of last-minute supplies for my school, and none of them are going to be in on time. I am going to feel lucky if I get this thing anytime soon without any damage to it!

Any Mill Creek showa screen comparisons? The discs looked kinda shabby next to the Shout DVDs, if I remember right, so there's definitely a lot of room for improvement. They weren't unwatchable or anything, but I'm hoping for something better. Not that the old movies are exactly visual feasts or anything...

I still haven't watched Super Monster - I was scared to after all I heard of it being a bunch of stitched together stock footage with some 0 budget connecting material. Guess now will finally be the time!

I liked Moviebob's retrospective on the series in honor of this set - he was really positive about Gamera the Brave, too, which has me excited after hearing nothing but negativity about it for years. I still haven't seen it, either.

I think you'd like Gamera The Brave. It's a more kids friendly film then the trilogy but it keeps a lot of the positive "serious" aspects of the 3 90's films. The prologue is almost a direct continuation of Gamera vs Iris.

it's a great set but with the older films, at least for me, the most I found I was able to watch b2b was 2 since the plot line was basically the same

I ordered it from Best Buy. Hoping they use UPS because if they send it through the USPS I don't expect to get it before the new year.

I'm definitely looking forward to the new set. Except for vs. Gaos and the newer trilogy I haven't had the Gamera movies in my watching rotation in quite some time. I've never seen Gamera the Brave as well (it was so expensive to buy after it went out of print) so that will be a treat. Here's hoping for a safe delivery of this big set.

Did this sell out? Was hoping to buy it from Diabolik or Grindhouse Video.

Received mine. Only had time to quickly skim through the first disc. Great package overall.

If I have one complaint, it's that I wish they wouldn't provide English subtitles for certain portions of dialogue that are actually in English.

I emailed Grindhousevideo about this and he responded that he's trying to get more in. So no guarantee that they will come back in stock here, but I feel its likely.

I don't know about these movies in particular, but foreign actors speaking English in foreign movies is often unintelligible. So that doesn't bother me.

I watched the first film last night, and actually didn't see English subtitles for the English lines. I do agree with you 100%.

Yep, Deep Discount just canceled my pre-order!! They just stated they weren’t going to be able to fill the order. Put in a pre-order with Amazon, now wait and see if that gets filled!

Why have it available for pre-order if not going to honor the sales???

Mine was cancelled as well. I don't understand. Did this just get way more limited than we thought?
