Well these cancellations pretty much guarantee that this set isn't coming back to the U.S. I just went ahead and ordered the UK edition from Arrow site. Pricey and shipping is horrendous, but that's the breaks.

In any case my amazon order currently says arriving next Thursday by 8PM.

Old Boy was similar. Immediately before release all the retailers started cancelling everyone's orders. Noone was selling it for about a week. Scalpers were seen listing dozens of copies on ebay. And then all of a sudden Amazon UK got it back in. In that case it seems it was a supply side issue that was conflated with scalping for a heavily anticipated title. For Gamera I believe its a supply side issue that is being conflated by the pandemic and resulting shipping issues to the US.

If they make a standard version, it pretty much won't have the poster, graphic novel book, and probably a regular size book instead of the perfect bound one. Also I imagine it will look like the female prisoner scorpion set with slim cases and a much more smaller box. I doubt it will look as nice as the limited

This is also why you order from diabolik, you get it a week early, the price was cheaper then amazon when it was 1st listed and you have your copy instead of wondering if you will get one from amazon or where ever

Wow, lots of cancellations on this! What a bummer. I was coming here to check if anyone with a Target.com order has seen any movement on it yet. I ordered from them a month ago and it's in Preparing to Ship status, which is a good sign, but it doesn't yet have the "This item has processed!" label on it. In my experience, that's not unusual on a Friday for an upcoming Tuesday release, but hopefully it will process over the weekend. Really glad some folks are getting their sets at least!

Deepdiscount cancels pre-orders all the time. Don't have experience with TCM. The listing is still for sale on Target, Walmart, Amazon, Forbidden Planet and the listing still exists on Diabolik and Grindhouse. I don't think there is any reason to panic yet. For what it's worth my amazon order says arriving Thursday.

As much as this situation is disappointing I'm pleasantly stunned that a Gamera boxed set could almost completely sell out prior to release. I didn't think the big reptile had this huge a following

Got my boxset today from Arrow U.K.
The wife ordered it as a gift. It's heavy. Looks cool as hell. I've only seen 3 of these so not sure what to expect. Is this thing sold out already?

I don't think Target generally ships out prior to the official release date, so expect a more definitive answer on the 17th or 18th.

Its also never been clear if Arrow presses the entire ltd release at once, or in chunks. So even if its 5000 units, they may have only done 1500 initially and are jammed up delivering more to retailers.

Oh brother! Another DDD stooge waiting on a cancellation.....On the phone with CS but that likely won’t help, but I haven’t got a cancellation yet.

For what it’s worth, CS spoke to his manager, and he said that all the cancellations had gone out already, so if you didn’t get an email, then they had physical copies that they were shipping soon. Sounds like complete BS to me, but we’ll see...

I'm sorry to hear about all of the cancelled orders. I got mine in a few days ago, and it's quite a nice little set so far. I've only watched three of the movies, but vs Barugon and vs Gyaos both looked pretty good to me. The original film could have looked better, though, the image was very fuzzy especially during the night scenes.

I got the DD cancellation too. I thought it might be since I had ordered with one of their 15% off coupons, but it's looking more widespread than that. I made a replacement order with Target, so I hope they come through. Might put in an order with Amazon as a backup.

Yep, that’s why I pre order all my Arrow Video LEs from Diabolik. At least with them I know I’ll be guaranteed a copy.

Honestly? I prefer the standard releases. But, that's just me. I have limited space to store my Blu-ray library (which is why I keep my Blu-rays locked away so nobody can walk off with them. I just hope that a standard version with just the films comes out, preferably with the kind of packaging as the clamshell Blu-ray cases like the reissued Star Wars Saga Blu-ray (Eps 1-6) that was released by Fox Studios and the James Bond reissued Blu-ray set.

My panic Target order from this morning already shows "Preparing to Ship" which I take as a good sign. Likely I could have waited, as I know Arrow has had supply issues in the past (The Apartment, etc.) but I just couldn't be sure. I do suspect it will turn up at Hamilton Books.

I will say Deep Discount has permanently lost a customer. Too many other stand out sources these days to let this slide. More and more I would rather give my money to Hamilton, Diabolik, Grindhouse, Vinegar Syndrome, all who have done me really good turns, even if it is a little more. I blinked at a potential $25 savings but it got me nothing....

FWIW I would be interested to hear if anyone gets one from DD, and what they paid.
