During the winter I'd leave my t.v. on all the time as a source of heat because my room never gets any. I hope they can't tell if you've accessed the service menu because i too have a warranty thru BB and i've gone in the service menu to check how long my bulb has been used(3,480 about 6 months ago). Your problem almost sounds more like a shortage so i would have had a tech come in and look at it with the new bulb on hand but i guess you'll just have to wait and see for yourself.

Also, not to change the subject but how do you know if you have an optical block problem? I understand it's a very common issue with these sets and sony is covering it thru like 2010 but i don't know what to look for. Since i haven't noticed an issue i probably don't have one but it'll be good to know in case there's a future problem.

^6,000-8,000 hours i believe.
