I blind bought the US around a year after release cuz it looked fun, had Melissa George, and to get free shipping on something from amazon.
EDIT: just looked at my dvdprofiler, it was part of my $50 amazon card for winning the horrordvds NFL suicide pool. Also got Humanoids from the Deep and Prowler on that haul.

Just had an ad for Laika's films unified on the same digital platform - all the films except Missing Link are listed under Laika. So, it seems Universal/Focus Features' distribution rights have lapsed - the new prices of the discs have risen dramatically.

Mutiny on the Bounty (1935) is OOP and should be added to the list.

I have a question about Amazon and OOP blu rays. A week ago, the X-Files movie was available again to purchase on Amazon. I ordered a copy even though the title was listed as temporarily out of stock. I believe a day later, the ability to purchase was taken down.

Yesterday, the movie was available again, although quickly returned to Temporarily out of stock status. I guess my question is this; when new, dead stock is found in a warehouse, do previous orders such as mine get fulfilled before the title goes live to the general public?

Normally they fill the oldest first. Not sure which movie you refer to, but it seems they are live. The X-Files - Fight the Future (ASIN: B001G7PT4I) is showing as Temporarily out of stock. It doesn't show available because only a used one is available from another seller, but if a seller such as Deep Discount puts one up for sale, it will show as available, but will not fill any Amazon orders. Hope that makes sense.

That's why I've kept the DVD version but the transfer is not that great.

So if a seller like Deep Discount finds old stock and they get listed as being fulfilled by Amazon, older orders wouldn’t be fulfilled?

I get what you’re saying about third party sellers and orders not being fulfilled. I’m just curious as to how a title like Fight The Future randomly keeps popping up on Amazon. Similarly this happened also with Godzilla vs Biollante.

Correct, It actually has a different stock number and you should see a sticker with it on the item. "Fulfilled by Amazon" basically means the seller is paying Amazon to house the item, packaged and ship it, and collect and disburse the monies. Sold by Deep Discount and Fulfilled by Amazon, doesn't equate Ships from and sold by Amazon.com.
It pops up because there is one New available and Amazon's listing is pushed to the New & Used area.

Any idea why the main page just did a review for Easy Money/Men at Work when it is OOP?

Not sure, but those screen shots look awful. Those BDs barely look better than DVD.

I think sometimes they just review stuff when they get to it. There was also a review of Children of the Corn III not too long ago which is also OOP.

The reviewer finally pulled the disc off their shelf.

This site can be the worst when it comes to timely reviews of new releases. They didn't review the 1990 It miniseries until almost three years after it was first released.

Stopped of at Movie Trading Company in South Dallas while at lunch and FINALLY found a DVD copy of Freaked staring Alex Winter for $5! It’s the first copy on any format since I started looking in March. Still looking for that elusive blu-ray copy though... it’s a 20th Centruy Fox title, FYI.

I also grabbed the Miramax double feature form Echo Bridge: The Night Listener and Benefit of the Doubt. This set is actually selling for about the same price on Amazon, but the stand alone copy of Benefit of the Doubt is going for BIG $$$. As far as I can tell, The Night Listener has no individual release, so this double pack is the only way to get it.

For what it's worth, that DVD is loaded with extras while the blu-ray is just the movie.

Simple, there's not as many new releases this year because of Covid-19, so they'll review discs they missed beforehand, regardless if it's still available or not.
