How can you even compare blurays in USA to what we get here. You guys are miles ahead. We wish we had as many titles as you. From the top of my head, we don't have Home Alone, The Aviator, or even the Bourne trilogy boxset! (coming in June). Lots more titles we dont have. Bluray take up is slow here: DVDs are awesome value for money right now + recession (+ only average PS3 sales).

The grass is rarely greener on the other side

PS3 has sold 2 million in the UK. I would not call that average. Source High Definition review. (UK Mag)

Lagging in third= average sales.
Point is I know a lot of people who don't have a BR player, and many who dont see the point. The take up is slower than the US.

PS3 has sold similar to the 360 despite launching a year later.

UK Blu-ray sales are also tracking similar, if not ahead of DVD.

You only need look at Play and Amazon to see Blu-ray sales pricing has dropped below £10 quicker than DVD.

I don't know what the OP is smoking. So many films are not out in the UK on Blu Ray yet are in America:

Gattaca - I had to import
Monster's Ball - I had to import
The Visitor - Region locked so I can't import, will probably never be released in UK
Frozen River - Only out in US
Rachel Getting Married - Out in UK in JUNE FFS.
Let the right one in - Not available in the UK except American import.

Well generally patience is a virtue anyway. I'll always wait for the US release even if, as is the case with TAKEN, the movie comes out over here first.

Probably the same reason Canada is getting a lot of titles the US isn't, and earlier too (Sin City). That NEVER happens in anything else.

The UK is very lucky to see some blu-rays released earlier then there US counterparts e.g. Inkheart due this month in the UK and june in US.

Alot of the time we see blu-ray titles months to years after the US release. Sometimes we very are luckly to see titles within days or a couple of weeks between UK and US releases.

It may possibly look like more becaues I do notice that the US do deal more with box sets unlike the UK that has indervidual releases and the boxsets.

The US as get more titles then the UK and the studios don't screw the US like they screw the UK customers.
