I also have a RocketFish wireless transmitter/receiver that I've been using for almost 2 years. Works great. I also have hardwood floors and din't want to run my wires in the attic and into the walls.
No problems with it at all. It's a great workaround.

"Workaround" is the right word for it. The Rocketfish isn't ideal, but it provides a satisfactory solution to a major problem.
