"Good English Dubs".... noooo why would you do that to yourself? Original with subs is the way to go.

+ the quality on theise blurays looks horrible, rather go with 88_films and Eureka versions.

I think it depends on what you grew up on. I grew up with the original dubs and they have become ingrained to how I view the film. I can't watch them with the subs or even the new dubs and get the same enjoyment. If I've never seen the film before I'll go with subs.

That is not correct, in almost every case they are same transfers used by 88 and Eureka.

Magnificent Bodyguards was a horrible transfer. Just looked like someone transferred a DVD on to a Blu-ray disc lol

I actually like these sets, they might not be all singing and dancing but provide great entertainment (and excellent value) for someone who simply grew up enjoying Jackie's work on VHS tapes way back. It all depends on the master provided by Fortune Star. While most of the transfers in these Scandinavian box sets are the same as the ones used by Eureka and 88, some are older inferior quality masters, such as Hapkido and Magnificent Bodyguards. Overall though, the price-quality ratio in these boxes is outstanding.

English dubs are the greatest for the extra comedic element. Atleast the older dubs almost always delievers on that end. I only prefer original language on Jet Li's movies for some reason. Eureka and 88Films are definately more quality releases and are great when alternative cuts, commentary tracks and great extras are offered. But thats very rare for Lo Wei movies especially.

Just had a look at this collection. All the movies are in true HD, although still encoded with MPEG2 like the previous collections. It's good to see Young Master in true HD, looking forward to seeing this one when either Eureka or 88 Films release it

It's weird though that Dragon Lord here is only 83 minutes and is the special edition starting with JC practicing kung fu in the garden. But I don't know why it is shorter, might be that FS has screwed the Scandinavian distributor again..

And then audios are still the crappy FS remixes with added sound effects, English only as always. Besides Dragon Lord and Young Master, all of them have the old English dubs.

If Canton Godfather is the longer cut with the full English dub then I am interested.

Was the print on Battle Creek Brawl (Volume 1 set) the same as the 88 version? - Edit - Just checked on the volume 1 thread and it appears so.

I also wonder if Fearless Hyena 2 will get the 88 treatment eventually - given it's poor reception? - I'd still buy it regardless.

Thanks, good to know. Would love to read a comparison between this 83 minute version and the others? Much missing in terms of 'action' scenes?

Lol noticed typo after posted it but it was copied at cdon site anyway so did not bother to correct it...

Looks like part 4 easy pass, protector is most likely american cut, don`t care at "good father" and it likely is short version. Heart of dragon & DF already own and don`t remember liking Lucky star movies much. Richard Ng particularly is super annoy.

Wonder if there will be part 5..soon movies are too well covered to call it vintage anymore if further volumes are released..Hmm, snake in eagles shadow, drunken master, master with cracked fingers at least would fit to 5th volume..
