Another one may or may not be following certain guidelines - I'm unsure - he tends to hang with a bunch of friends. Their grandmother is 90+ and was in the hospital a couple weeks ago with an unrelated issue - my girlfriend's family has been helping her get back and forth from there a few times. I'm not worried about my girlfriend's direct family as I see them or are exposed second-hand often enough, and they don't take part in any risky activities, other than the hairdresser. But the family we're going to visit is what worries me because they tend to be busier people in general.

well, i see that you need a haircut and that a family member is a barber

i think you would be fine going but personal decision and no decision made is wrong...gotta do whats best for you

how does your wife feel about you staying home even if she goes?

Track runner Usain Bolt & Paul Pogba of Manchester United/France have both tested positive for Covid-19.

The UK is seeing an increase in the number of daily cases to 1,522 a day due to increased testing.

Also the Paris Marathon has been cancelled this year because of increased Covid cases being recorded in France.

Never thought I'd see the day multiple Worlds Marathons would be canceled in the same year.

I think I mis-worded something. Sadly nobody in their family cuts hair. My girlfriend's mom went to a hairdresser recently, but nobody I know cuts hair. That would be too perfect.

My girlfriend (not wife yet but someday) doesn't mind if I stay home. She knows I'm worried. But I feel bad because I do like her family and I'm always there for the visits. We only go a few times a year usually and this year we haven't been there once yet. And she's going anyways with her family even if I don't, and I'll see her and her sister the next day anyways. So I wonder if it doesn't matter much - I'll be exposed anyways one way or another.

Did I mention there will be pizza, cake and ice cream?

It should be fine as long as everyone wears masks.... with the nose exposed, of course.

This is so aggravating to me. Especially at the grocery store, it takes everything in me to keep my mouth shut about it.

Just got back from Walmart picking up some prescriptions. So there is this very old lady at the counter with her back turned to me. But I can see her mask is a lot lower than it should be. I turned to my son and bet him the mask didn't cover her nose. He laughed and agreed with me. The old lady finally finishes, turns around and low and behold, it's below her nose. But . . . I can see why. She had the biggest and longest nose I have ever seen on a woman - hands down. If she covered her nose, her mouth would be exposed. The two of us are just staring at her - couldn't help it. Thank God we were both wearing masks because if not she would have seen our mouths gaping wide open in astonishment!

This mask thing ain't that bad after all.

All I have to say is that if my mom gets Coronavirus, then we're all getting it! Because she really protects herself. She wears three layers of masks over her face, wears goggles to prevent anything from getting into her eyes, wears gloves and brings a spray bottle filled with alcohol to spray anything she touches. If all of that ain't enough protection, then we're all doomed!

I don't know how she does it. With the heat waves and high humidity we had this summer in NY, wearing several layers of masks and gloves is too much for me.

From one who is in his twilight years, time has become very precious. As is good health. It's one thing to lose them to old age, that is expected. It's (hopefully) gradual. Losing them to a pandemic virus, something that we haven't seen in over 100 years . . . is being cheated. A cruel blow. Do everything you can to prevent it. No sacrifice is too great.

Our state has been reporting triple digit infections everyday for almost a month now. Over 5,000 cases since the start of this pandemic.

My manager called and informed me to not to report to work tomorrow. A potential corona infection by another employee spouse, so as a precaution to just stay home. Return to work on Monday, instead.

Starting my 3-day weekend.

Thankfully my parents have no underlying health issues. But still, they are over 60 so they are still at high risk. So in a way, I don’t blame them for being extra cautious.

So they're blatantly lying about our 7 day case average here, saying it's 113 when it's 151. Clearly they're pushing their own agenda to improve the optics so when they re-open schools, people will think it's safe.

Funny thing, when I walk outside, I can still tell if a woman is attractive even though her face is covered with a face mask. But then again, if she took off her face mask, I might be unpleasantly surprised.

She reopened indoor dining (at 25% max) but bars and movie theaters are still closed. Guess she wasn't impressed with NATO's safety measures campaign.

Yikes. In the UK we're getting reports that people are having their livelihoods threatened if they don't return to work (and they're currently working from home). What? People before the pandemic were encouraged to work from home, as they'd be one less rat running the daily race.

Those goal posts sure do like moving around.
