I may still have it on video (recorded), a half hour programme on BBC Two where Kermode interviewed John Carpenter about the original Halloween. It's possible it was followed by a screening of the film (this was back when the BBC and not Sky showed it usually each October. Before the BBC, the first time I saw the film was when ITV screened it). At the beginning there was a sequence where Kermode was dressed up as Michael Myers.

I did see Halloween as well when ITV screened it one late night - or Granada TV as it was known as at that time here in the north-west. A shame I never saw Kermode dressed as Myers.

Back in the good old VHS days, I remember buying this film in Woolworths. It was released by a video company called 'Channel 5' (nothing to do with the broadcaster). 'Channel 5' actually released quite a lot of titles on video in the late 80's for under a tenner along with another video company called 'The Video Collection'. Unfortunately their Halloween release was truly awful - it was so blurry you could barely see what was going on. I recorded it myself when the film was screened on TV, which was far superior in terms of picture quality.

I've forgot the name of the film now, it was on The Film Review the week before, had 'My Last Day' in the title.

Another film which escapes me, was reviewed on the programme earlier this summer. It had an X-Files-type plot about someone in a small town in the States who had a local radio show. It was being released on streaming only though.

Is there a new edition of The Film Review this week? Usually it's shown around late afternoon on the BBC News channel, but today, even though it was scheduled to be shown earlier, there was something else on instead.
