I haven't heard it, but I am sure the 15" sub will perform well. They may only have the Maple HD-Sub15 left in stock. You need to make a decision soon.

Having two subwoofers in a room has many advantages. Buy one and get the other one fixed as soon as you can afford it. There is no rush.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but does that polyfill cover the port hole?Does the air push through it or did you make a hole for the port?

No, ears will give you inaccurate information.

Having more experience with subwoofer cabinets, I was impressed and surprised that they had used braces and glue everywhere. I have seen this on more expensive subwoofer cabinets. You don't build a subwoofer cabinet to make the inside look beautiful. This is not an architectural model. You want to make sure the cabinet is solid, without any leakages. Typically, all DIY sites recommend using braces and as much glue as possible.

As long as the outside is attractive and the cabinet is solid, you can't ask for more.

Oh is that how it works? Ohhhh. I didn't know that.

And, the slot port is at the top, I didn't put any Polyfill in there. I filled the enclosure, but without packing it tight and cramming it all.

thanks, I'll try to post pics when I get it and have it setup. Might be a week or two before I can do so. This is for my second house and I don't have much time to play during the week. That and someone will have to tell me how to post pics here.

Are you the same erict in the PA-120 forum on AVS? If so I was wondering what sub you decided on?

Thanks Big Daddy. Quick question for you, I have a HK AVR 247 I will be hooking this up to. Do I need a splitter for the sub? Or does it come in the box? I thought I read some where in this thread that if you add a splitter to the sub? It increases the output by 6db? I plan to run a 10' RG6 from the amp to the sub, with RCA screw on ends. What if anything do I need to get to do this?

Thanks,

Bill

The Y adapter that you need is (2 male, 1 female). It allows you to connect the subwoofer cable to both the right channel and left channel inputs on the back of the subwoofer. It may give you up to 6dB of additional output.

If you are using two subwoofers, you need another Y adapter (1 male, 2 female) to connect to the LFE output (sub out, or sub pre-out) on the back of the receiver.

A Y adapter is included in the box. Unfortunately, I don't remember which type it was. Any recent buyer remembers this?

forgot to answer this part, i would go with the analog for two reasons.
1. old school.
2. there has been a little debate about this, but i personally believe that the analog is more accurate compared to its digital younger brother.

oldschool

newschool

both from the radio shack.

You asked for it. I am going to send an email to your girfriend of 9 1/4 years. You are definitely in trouble. You better get the wedding ring ready. Forget about the speakers you were planning to buy.
