I'm older and remember horror from the 50's and 60's when things were much more subdued. I guess we are from different generations when a pick ax through the skull is not considered graphic.

I agree with you Okie, MBV 3D is pretty graphic but it's presented in a more cartoonish way if that makes sense.

I love it all. Slow build, subtle, in your face, gruesome, atmospheric, you name it.

The Shining, like you say, is fantastic. I also loved The Wicker Man, The Changeling, Don’t Look Now, Carrie etc..
More modern efforts like The Babadook, The VVitch, The Lighthouse, Midsommar and Under The Shadows are other favourites.

Halloween is the greatest horror along with The Exorcist and Texas Chainsaw imo.

The Exorcist still scares the sh** out of me. Just think if that was 3D

Yep, not one to forget!

I was a fan of the first Conjuring film. First class build up. The most famous scene from that film would look outstanding in 3D!

It’s been a huge disappointment to me that there haven’t been that many horror films in 3D.

This is true. A good family friendly chiller is ‘The Hole’. Good depth, a few pop outs and a likeable family. Two or three good scares but nothing too bad. Don’t know if that’s something you would like?

Great 3D, you should check the thread on the main page which I bumped, loads of opinions in there!

Watched Warcraft. No nothing about the game, but I enjoyed the movie and the 3D was great. How could there not be a sequel? It also has an Atmos soundtrack.

Highly recommended as a "demo disc"!

Agree. 30 or better pop-outs with the highlight being that axe towards the end! I liked the movie too.

I finished off my morning with a double feature starting with Ant-man and following up with Taza, Son of Cochise. Both with terrific 3d. Taza was a bit light on the pop-outs compared to most vintage titles but was still excellent 3D.

I would recommend the following:

Inferno
House Of Wax
The Mad Magician (also two 15 minute Three Stooges shorts)
It Came From Outer Space
3D Rarities 1 and 2.
The Mask
Nude Cuties
Gravity
The Walk
Kong: Skull Island
Mad Max: Fury Road
The Hole
Life Of Pi
Bait (shark film)
Into The Spiderverse
Beauty And The Beast (live action)
Titanic
Guardians If The Galaxy 1 and 2
Black Panther
Avengers Infinity War/Endgame
Spider-Man Far From Home/Homecoming.
Long Journey Into Night
The Stewardess (adult) excellent short included ‘Experiments In Love’. Excellent pop out, best I have seen
The Bubble ( weak film, stunning depth and pop out)

Watched Priest, pretty good movie with good 3D, but man it's a dark movie which doesn't help the 3D. Interesting take on separation of church and state.
