Same here.

Did you see the review of Full Metal Jacket here? Looks like it will be a triple dip for me!

Makes one wonder if this is in response to the bad press they have received in regards to low data rates for their content. This is just one example of one show out of thousands so it does not mean much at this time.
No, it probably just means they haven’t got around to that show yet. They are pushing their optimised, shot based encodes To all their 4K content before getting to work on their HDR encodes next. Some shots will be as low as 1.8 Mbps depending on complexity. It has been said that they will finish up the initial 4K stuff in three weeks or so.

For many things purchase means “to pay for”. Example, you purchase a PPV, when its over it is gone.

The absence of new movies at the theater, and thus on home video, continues to allow me to acquire more catalog titles. I am still finding as much to buy as ever. My wishlist might be 1% shorter now than it was before.

I also have no idea why I am awake this early. It's unnatural.

I’m in the same boat. Luckily, most labels have played a blinder. My highlights so far, ‘Come And See’, the tv adaptation of ‘The Woman In Black’ ‘Carnival Of Souls‘ and Pet Shop Boy’s It Couldn’t Happen here. I’m also delighted I could pick up Dekalog tv wise and thankfully modern stuff like Invisible Man, Parasite, 1917 and The Lighthouse were all available before the virus cut in.

Overall, I’m 65 up with two to come. Even labels like VS and Arrow are giving us 4K now as a nice bonus!

I made that post just to show some folks that low data rates can get noticed and in turn get bad press, the last thing Netflix wants is bad press. We will see if they continue to lower their data rates or if they restore or exceed previous speeds.

I need to upgrade Dekalog; I keep forgetting to do it. There should be a Criterion flash sale in October or there is the next Barnes & Noble sale in November.

Have you seen The Lighthouse and if so, what did you think of it? Open question to anyone who has seen it. I have been on the fence about this movie.

I, too, am looking forward to getting Full Metal Jacket on 4K. It's a favorite of mine.

I was going to buy that Alfred Hitchcock 4K box set, but with the hideous packaging of the U.S. edition, the just announced disc replacement for Psycho, and a handful of members are reporting playback issues with Vertigo, all of this makes me wary of doing so.

My Hitchcock 4K set arrived yesterday along with the Batman Beyond Complete Series on BD. On the agenda for today...send out that email over to Universal for the disc replacements for Psycho!

I hear Dark season 3 is one of the first series to get this treatment. Could you possibly have a look if you get the chance. I’m curious.

I’m hoping to see the lighthouse soon. I read it was horror but I don’t know anything.... my neighbor wants to watch a bunch of horror movies.

I think Netflix has the maximum level of bad press currently. Can’t get higher.

If you mean the Hitchcock set they are offering replacement discs for psycho.

There’s info in the 4K discs official thread.

Here is a review of Lighthouse by Chris Stuckmann, he liked it.

I saw the chatter but didn't know it was a done deal. I didn't buy it yet so maybe it will be worth waiting a bit till they get it ironed out. Thanks for the heads up. Great news!

Whiplash 4K comes out on the same day as Full Metal Jacket. That would make for interesting double bill with R Lee Ermey and JK Simmons.
