God of War: Ragnarok coming in 2022

I'm not quite that pessimistic. I'm definitely not optimistic that it makes it out in 2021. But I don't think only showing a teaser has any bearing on it. They already have Miles Morales and Horizon 2 as their splashy launch and launch window games to show of the power of PS5. I can see them sitting on GoW2 footage for their big E3 2021 game (assuming that's a thing--whatever big summer event they have otherwise).

I will be 3 years in April since the last one launched and reports were they got to work on the sequel pretty soon after that was done. So late 2021 would be a feasible release date I'd think. The sequel will need a lot less development time than the reboot since they have the combat engine etc. done.

So I'd guess it's either the big holiday 2021 title, or the big Q1 2022 game. And honestly, I'd expect PS5 sales and availability to be the driver there. If PS5's are flying off shelves still and are hard to find next Oct/November, might as well delay it to release in 2022 when sales may need a boost.

I HATE hard games, usually suck at action games like this especially, and thought this was pretty easy on normal aside from the Valkryie fights (especially the last one that was hard as hell even on easy).

If you though the first one was too hard even on easy, I wouldn't expect the sequel to be even easier. Though maybe they'll go the route Naughty Dog did with TLOU2 or Remedy did with the recent update for Control and add accessibility sliders to let people make the game easier/harder in more nuanced ways (even an immortality option in Control).

I believe the game had an Easy difficulty, and maybe even an easier Story difficulty? I thought the game was just fine playing on Normal, but I did turn it down to Easy for the final Valkyrie fight. I like when video games have options for difficulty so more gamers can get in on the action.

Yeah if it’s 2021, I expect it to be the last exclusive Sony launches next year.

I played GoW 2018 on normal difficulty only. I managed to complete Mother’s Ashes, but was not able to beat a single Valkyrie.
I watched vids on how to beat them, but just ended up losing interest. I don’t consider that as completing the game.

I may consider changing the difficulty to easy mode if I decide to play it again.

I notice lots of games give the option of changing the difficulty if you die and continue numerous times. I’m playing RE2 and that option is available, although I refuse to do it.

If they show off a game that says "PlayStation 5 Exclusive" that means its PS5 only. That's the wiggle room they allow themselves to say they didn't lie. Go back and watch the June event again. Will I’ve watched the teaser for Ragnarök and can’t find any where it’s says PS5 exclusive. I was only asking cause I’ve been hearing PlayStation is wanting to force people to buy the PS5 in order to play new first party games and that they have no interest of continuing support for the PS4.

I'll be honest, I'm not even 100% sure if Ragnarok is a true sequel. Considering the relatively quick turnaround, I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't another "Miles Mirales" type game. Which is perfectly fine with me if it is. I LOVE these shorter experiences!
