My favorite so far has been Book of Monsters. Lots of practical effects, gore, but also lighthearted. Although Turbo Kid is one of those instant cult classic films.

Tales of Halloween is also a good anthology, my favorite segment is the one with Barry Bostwick who seems to have a lot of fun with the role.

The Fare is also a decent mystery film. I think the
[Show spoiler]twist ending works quite well
.

Slay Belles is a fun one, pretty girls in a light hearted Christmas horror flick is pretty much all you need for the holidays.

The Lodger is an okay slow burn film with great atmosphere, I wish it did more though. If you enjoyed The Innkeepers but thought you’d prefer it set during the turn of the century, then this will be up your alley.

Red Letter Day had potential but takes too long to get going and when it does it just doesn’t go far enough. The actors aren’t very good for the most part, especially the son. If you enjoyed the first Purge film though you should find enough to enjoy (but definitely not as good as the 2nd or 3rd Purge).

Still need to watch To Hell and Back, Candy Corn, Terrifier and Harpoon. Sounds like I’ll need to pick up The Golem at some point.
