I’m receiving a lot of PM’s about the same two topics so I will answer them en masse and then head on out. This gives me a chance to clean out my inbox again without individual responses.

First topic, the PM’s kinda center around this theme, “Penton, what do you think about so and so when he makes this categorical statement that he denies this or Penton what you you think about this statement where he says this, he seems to be very sure of himself”

Guys, I will tell you this again, the BEST gauge of a person’s credibility is his past posting record, i.e. his public posting history. Read it, remember it and then take everything after that accordingly.

I don’t give a hoot if somebody with a jaded past posting history says “I categorically deny this” or whatever.

All people don’t tell the truth. My God, it is not uncommon for somebody to lie or use convoluted reasoning when giving a deposition under oath.
“I did not have sex with that woman………Monica L.”
“It depends on what your definition of is…….IS.”

So, lesson of the day, don’t spend so much time or effort into trying to catch people in an online game of semantics gotcha (esp. on an inferior forum) or listen to them more seriously when they passionately swear on their grandmother’s grave, etc. or whatever.

Let past posting history be your best guide to the veracity of any statements.

At this point in time, everything is randomly individualized rather than unionized esp. since much of the talent is still as uneducated about high definition packaged media as is the general public.

In regards to M. Bay, I think it prudent to trust first impressions.

The same reason there are Fox trailers on the 360. Or do you mean in the Blu-ray Trailers section?

Paid - any new word on the PS3 decoding DTS-MA? With Fox still holding onto it, I'm hoping we'll get hardware support soon.

Good theory that is probable. Profile 1.1 and BD-Live mandate is just two months away and there is no reason to hang on to the unsold players anymore.

I would like to get a BDPS300 player for my in-laws. I also have an AVCHD camcorder? Can sony insiders comment if this player will still play my AVCHD movies?

I am considering authoring segments of AVCHD disks (from my camcorder) onto std DVD-R and sending disks to them regularly, so the player would have to play these disks.

(They're too non-techie to understand how to use a PS3).
