Half right. Alien 3 is the best of the series by a lightyear.

As fun and as outrageous the Fast and Furious franchise has been, at lease the first 3 are grounded in reality whereas 4-8 they are all suddenly superhuman and experts in military tactics. Suspending disbelief for a bunch of car thieves is one hell of a stretch.....

I mostly agree with the above sentiment of sequels not being able to ruin the original, but there are certain situations like Kingsman: The Golden Circle, where I feel

[Show spoiler]bringing Harry back, and not even to good use

really undercuts 'that' moment in the first one, which was one of the best moments in the film.

Goal 3. Absolutely awful. I pretend that doesn’t exist. Ruined the continuing story of 1 and 2, just like Alien 3 after the excellent Aliens. Both were such a let down.

Alien 3 ruined it by killing of Ripley too soon, she should have lasted much longer. Also T3, Terminator Salvation, Genysis tainted the excellence that was T1, and T2 thankfully Dark Fate brought the series back to what made the franchise best.

I'm usually good with disregarding bad sequels (I am a horror fan, after all..), but I don't have the same excitement for Unbreakable anymore.

Distant second to Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, but they're prequels

even with the Zeist element deleted, I mean the whole concept of the first film was that there could be only one and the first film ended with Connor winning the prize. but then he uses that knowledge of the prize in part 2 to save the planet and now they are time travelling immortals and Michael Ironside shows up so clearly The can't be only one and he resurrects Ramirez by calling his name?

to be honest, everything Highlander related that got released after 1986 shit on the original.

Each movie after the first one was technically a sequel to the first movie, except for The Source which was a continuation of the TV show.

An entire series where the writers and directors gave no care to what came before.
