Some gamers just aren't interested in researching first, they buy something because they like the cover and believe what it says on the back.

My next game is Warhawk. I love the way Sword looks, but I'm not convinced about the gameplay enough to buy it.
not really...look at the box office

most movies make money based on good reviews and word of mouth

not just if the movie looks cool

like myself, before i go to a movie, i check rottentomatoes.com for the reviews and if the movie is fresh, then im gonna go see it

most people dont just buy games cuz it looks "cool"

$60 bucks is a big investment and most people arent just going to make a blind buy

Was Spidey 3 one of the best movies ever? Check the box office. Gee, I guess it was. Movies and games make a lot of their money on hype and shameless promotion. It often has very little to do with quality. Is McD's the world's best food? Are game reviewers fair? Is the news unbiased?

When you grow up you might learn the answer to these mysteries and more.

Movies generally make money from being good. But you also have HYPE which often revolves around horrible movies. Besides taking Spider Man 3.. from all the bad reviews I think most people knew it was going to be bad. I was expecting it to be bad but I just had to see it anyway.

yeah exactly, spiderman 3 was bad, but it was crazily hyped and strong word of mouth made it a huge hit at the box office

even though u didnt enjoy it, many people did

i didnt even want to see it, but my friends and im pretty sure a lot of people's friends, convinced them to go see it

That's a very good review. Are you talking about the 7 hour thing? If so, that's 2+ hours longer than Gears of War for the same price.
