Yeah I just pretend the second half of season 8 didn't happen and have my own fantasy ending that keeps me happy.

Interesting pricing difference:

BD:
-US: ~$175
-Nordic: ~$80 (deal, regularly occurring)

4K BD:
-US: ~$209
-Nordic: ~$300

So Nordic is much cheaper on BD, but much more expensive on 4K BD. Strange.

I like the idea of the ending but the execution is botched. Still, pretty visuals and music help make it watchable enough that I won’t cut a marathon short.

Yeah, that is strange. I want this when it's released so bad, but i just can't afford it at the price it's going for.

Both me and my mom did too. I did see a guy on Twitter last year that said he loved the ending. There are some of us.

You don't seem to have an option for the Steelbooks yet.

Am I the only person here who hasn’t watched even a single episode of this series? I pre-ordered the 4K set and plan to watch the whole thing this winter.

I envy you seeing it the first time! Once I get my set it’ll be about my third time seeing it all.

I haven’t seen a single episode.

I might have ordered the set, but a lot of good stuff seems to be coming out. I just signed up for AT&T wireless and HBO Max came free. I haven’t seen what’s on it, but I’m thinking GOT may be there.

I’m looking forward to it.

Believe it or not, but I just bought an LG C9 and it’s the first tv I’ve had in over two decades!

I’m just blown away by this ‘new’ technology. Sometimes when I’m watching these 4K movies I forget to watch the movie because I’m so mesmerized by the tech. LOL!

I only saw the first episode when the show started airing, but decided to read the books first instead. Then life stuff happened and before I knew it it was already on the third or fourth season. Figured it would go for maybe five seasons so might as well wait until it's done. Years later it was finally done and would have gotten the Blu-ray set, but with a 4K set almost a given it would be worth waiting for that instead, and now here we finally are, almost 10 years later.

High five, Pyoko, we’re going in fresh!

That said, I find that my appreciation of a great tv show or film often comes from the second, third, or even fourth viewing.

Ben Kingsley was in a film a number of years ago called Sexy Beast, which I bought on DVD. I liked the film a lot when I first watched it. But by my 4th viewing I truly believed it was one of the most under-rated films of the decade.

I think I noted previously in this thread how the Nordic HBO Blu-ray collections are often suspiciously cheap, shame this didn't seem to transfer to 4K. I initially hoped it was a misprice for the regular edition since it's exactly the same price as the steelbook one, which is a bit odd.

Sexy Beast is in dire need of a proper remaster on Blu-ray. Worth watching just for Kingsley's intense performance.
