Very interested, but I've never seen a von Trier film. I will have to educate myself.

Lars Von Trier won me over with Dancer in the Dark; I can't wait to see another effort from him. Thanks for the heads-up!

Apparently the Cannes press screening was yesterday at 7:00pm, so we should be seeing some reviews very soon.

I can't wait!

Charlotte Gainsbourg won best actress for her extraordinary performance as a grieving parent in Lars Von Trier's Antichrist – the scene in which she performs a clitoridectomy on herself was for many the enduring image of the festival this year.

The UK cinema release (from 24 July 2009) will be through Artificial Eye and will be uncut at '18' as evidenced by the BBFC's decision posted in this thread.

I would guess that we can expect the UK Blu-ray release to be from them as well.

I don't like the consept of "Dogme" that he was one of the main moviemakers behind. Never understood the consept of making movies with bad lightning and sound...

Been watching quite a bit of 'extreme' French cinema lately and am really keen to see this effort, to keep the ball rolling as it were.

A journalist from the Norwegian newspaper "Dagbladet" fainted when he watched this at the Cannes Film Festival...

I'm just happy Trier is back on the track, loved his first movies and Tv-stuff and i thought after "Idiots" which i think is genius he kept doing the whole Dogma concept for way too long, i lost interest in pretending where the room is where the table is and by guided by chalk lines, and there is no way to top "Idiots" inside the Dogma concept. And on the other hand he started to become the favorite pet Director of the political left and social crowd. And maybe some part of him felt the need to break out of the boundaries which were imposed on him and from those he set for himself which is something he allways disliked coming from others, for example he always stated in interviews how much he opposed those Filmschool advices like no use of voiceover no iserts like Year and date all those things he felt were fun. So in some way i think the malice and hate in Antichrist could be some way of catharsis for Trier, so even if the Movie is not for everyones taste it could mean a return to diversity. But then again that could be all me and i'm just for the first time in years happy for the arrival of a new van Trier Film.

Watched it in theaters and didn't like it one bit Didnt think it was scary or any good at all actually... Sorry, but I just thought it was a gross piece of ``art´´... The thing is, I don't like these artsy films.. Just not for me
