For those music fans amongst us, and if you are unaware, Eddie Van Halen died after a long battle with cancer. Certainly one of the best ever.

I saw that. Very sad news indeed. 2020 just keeps sucking.

In other music news, the long running copyright dispute over Led Zeppelin's song "Stairway To Heaven" has been conclusively decided in favor of Led Zeppelin.

"Led Zeppelin won the case in 2016, but it was revived on appeal in 2018.

A court of appeals upheld the original verdict earlier this year. Now, the US Supreme Court has declined to hear the case, definitively ending it."

Y'all talking about spiders here, I just have to show you all this bad boy we caught a few weeks ago, wandering right in the middle of my kitchen (I don't know which exact species it is, though). Thank goodness my dogs were not at home at the moment.

On top of that, just a few weeks before that, I had a near-miss with a black scorpion on the hallway leading to the kitchen. I was going to the kitchen to resupply for snacks during a movie one night, and I only spotted it on my way back to the TV, crawling around the entrance to the kitchen. I was barefoot. I swear my foot was at most two centimeters away from suffering a grim outcome at the tail of the vermin.

That is way too big for our vacuum nozzle. That's how my son (not me - I HATE spiders) got rid of the Black Widow. Sucked it up into the vacuum then emptied it outside - bag less model. I could see it walking around in the plastic receptacle that catches the stuff.

One of my best Movies is Arachnophobia, I really don't mind spiders. I found this one on a Golf Course in San Jose, CA, golfing with my In-Laws on the 16th Tee!

Tarantulas are not venomous spiders. Due to their size they are intimidating. But, if you piss it off it will shoot it's hairs at your hand which are a PIA to get out.

Wonderful news, but no release date given yet. It's great that it includes both the theatrical and the extended cuts. An announcement for The Hobbit trilogy 4K should be right behind it.

Best Buy shows a release date of Dec. 1, 2020. They also offer a steelbook version.

Best Buy is also showing the same release date for The Hobbit trilogy.

The Best Buy links that I posted earlier have been taken down; new ones will probably be available shortly.

Yeah, I can easily wait as well. Needless to say, Vudu's $3 pre-order offer failed to sway me. I will never pay $29.99 for vaporware.

Pluto and Tubi are cool free options for unemployed streamers.

Both 100% free and you can mute the commercials which don’t matter anyway because you won’t be buying stuff.

My neighbor shares her Hulu with live TV with me but I think she watches Pluto more than Hulu.

It has also been announced that a complete six film set of all of The Lord Of The Rings movies on 4K disc will be released summer of 2021:

https://www.theonering.net/torwp/202...om-sean-astin/

"Warner Bros. is also announcing that in the summer of 2021 it will be releasing a 4K ULTIMATE COLLECTORS’ EDITION with theatrical and extended versions of ALL SIX of the remastered films and new bonus content. Additionally, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first The Lord of the Rings film, a newly remastered Blu-ray trilogy of The Lord of the Rings films will be available in the Fall of 2021, also including the theatrical and extended versions."

"Bottom line – Peter Jackson and the team remastered the entirety of both trilogies (and extended editions), including the special effects"

There is a video of Sean Astin, who played Samwise, delivering the news.
