The NFL needs to send a message to the Titans about the seriousness of the protocols. When you break them, you are putting the entire season at risk.

I have seen an advertisement for fox nfl in 4k on comcast but yet to see it listed as an upcoming event much like it was last year. Will see tonight i guess..

Great question, they should be. I constantly promote it on Twitter cuz it doesn't seem like many other outlets do. I mean, 4K TVs are out there and readily available at affordable prices and a lot of folks already own them so why not try to push the most popular sport in the US to maybe drive some viewership, advertising revenue, etc. especially when it looks so damn good? Make no sense to me.

A forfeit for the Titans upcoming game is as good a punishment as can be to send the other teams a message. Don't bother with docking a draft pick next year, drop the hammer now.

It's dumb how they have all this technology at hand and don't do anything with it. I would pay good money for a 4K Sunday Ticket.

As a Bills fan, I would feel very uncomfortable with getting credit for a win via forfeit.

Not a jab at you at all, more so at them if that's the excuse "they" are putting out there, but not sure I'm buying the "these times" part...they are starting the 4K broadcasts a few weeks earlier this year than last. Last year was *I believe* like mid-season.

Im just goin by what they say for example:

"The main issues still come down to "economics and bandwidth," Michael Fidler, president of the UHD Alliance (UHDA), told me at CES. Noting that broadcasters have tended to only use 4K so far for "marquee kind of events," he said: "They think in a lot of cases and instances that 1080p is enough," although "they love HDR [and] want HDR," and even want High Frame Rate and "for the bigger events, they're switching" to that."

Actually not sure that is the case with Fox, as this will not be a true 4k picture but an upconverted 1080p format to 4k. Still better than 1080p but i don't think production cost matter much with software enhancing the picture and not true 4k cameras.

Fox produces its NFL coverage in 1080p and ‘upscales’ it to a 4K broadcast as opposed to shooting the event in 4K and transmitting in the same format. Upscaling is the process when one video format is converted to another. In this case, Fox will take the 1080p HDR signal and convert it to a 4K format.

Yep i would think thats why they can do all their tnf games that way as opposed to "real" 4k.
