Well Microsoft has shipped off an XBOX to them and seemingly every content creator under the sun, whereas Sony has given an hour or two to a few Japanese YouTube channels. It means there's going to be more MS content by default whatever happens. I'm positive we'd have the same Sony videos by now otherwise.

In the past DF have praised Sony, e.g. they've been fans of how PS4 Pro uses the checkerboard tech to achieve a 4k look, and they've had good things to say about their first party stuff. They appraise stuff technically and have the numbers and know-how to back it up. If they didn't then I'd suggest they weren't being impartial, etc.

I want to see how PS5 third party titles stack up against the new XBOX tech. I'm sure DF will continue to be analytical with their appraisal once Sony pulls their finger out.

I'll go against the general sentiment of Dirt 5 here. I think the 120hz mode is a game changer, the first of the games to offer it on launch and may be into getting the game just to see how it looks on my tv via PS5.

Looks like good stuff; i'll probably get it on the 1X, even though i've never bought a Dirt game before. The title looks like the love-child of Motorstorm tempered with Driveclub, which is not surprising considering the team that developed it.

They might not pick sides with Microsoft and Sony but they seem to have friends or something at Codemasters because they were glossing over all the problems. They lost a lot of credibility with me with this one.

It's his honesty and integrity. He mentioned DF and how some of the stuff they've said is wrong or doesn't make sense.

That's fine, I'll just take that as speculative, that you don't actually know.

This reminds me of those, "they must be getting paid" conversations that get thrown about by people who don't like so and so video.

Speculation as to why doesn't change that the video has no credibility whatsoever. They were clearly avoiding saying anything negative about it and would constantly make excuses for things. They even went as far as praising the load times..... 20 seconds to load a single track is horrendous when we have seen examples of near instant loads from next gen games. This was one of my most anticipated games of the year, something I have had pre-ordered for months and I am probably on of the biggest Codemasters fans on this site. From a gameplay perspective it still is but there is no reason to gloss over the fact that the next gen versions are not next gen in the slightest.

Also I hate to burst your bubble but the reason those paid review conversations exist is because it is a thing.

If you want to ignore the fact that former IGN staff have confirmed it and live in complete denial of the obvious be my guest. When Gamespot fired Jeff Gerstmann and deleted his Kane & Lynch review with a low score while K&L ads were plastered all over the site it really put a spotlight on it but even way back then it was obvious it happens before that.

Well figured since I pre-ordered the amplified edition it would be stupid to not play it on PS4 a bit since one of the perks is three days early access. Compared to what we saw of the XSX version the PS4 Pro version doesn't seem to have the screen tearing issues on the visual mode.
Xbox One X users have been saying the screen tearing is bad on that too so maybe the devs had a better feel for PS hardware which would make sense since this team is a lot of Evolution employees. Load times are in the 40-50 second range so double what XSX was doing but hopefully PS5 will be pretty much instant. Had one hard crash and another time where the race loaded but everything was just a black texture so the game is a bit of a mess. Overall fun though as I expected. Other than the sprint races which are completely broken with how you drift and get magnetized to the barricades.
