I don't honestly understand why people are relying on Sony to release an "official" black console when we have already seen both Clamshells come off and you can pretty much vinyl wrap them if you wanted and change the colour or buy most likely a 3rd party "unofficial" version to replace the Sony ones. Personally plan to do this myself and then the only other aspect you're left with is the Dualsense but there's always been more colours released over the life of the console.

If a black edition means a similar ‘texture’ to the black controller, I don’t want one

As a person who has tried to do a "Guide" and play at the same time, i can imagine how much timesaving and better a Picture in Picture will be when trying to get the trophy aspects complete at the same time.

My other takeaway atm is a really speedy and snappy UI to jump from even scratch into a game with friends (providing its Digital) with perhaps a small pause to insert a disk for authentication whilst it boots up.

I do love the PS3 like startup coming back combined with the PS4 style user list to log in.
Personally I don’t see the point in using guides to max out the trophies. It doesn’t feel earned if I do that.

These controllers are not for the general public.

I don’t know why devs get the DS4 thumbsticks & we get the newer ones. That’s the only mystery here. lol

Don't get me wrong, it's a case of "Different Strokes for Different Folks" but personally i tend to use a guide when i get stuck as sometimes we only have a limited amount of time in our lives to be faffing about trying to figure certain things out.

If those plates are removable for the PS5, I can imagine gamers taking their plates to professional car autobody shops and having their PS5 plates professionally coated with the colors of their choice, using high pressure spray painting for a perfect finish and clear coat to protect the paint.

At this point, I'll see how the PS5 looks, and only if I have a ton of time on my hands would I consider having the plates painted a different color or if they have different plate covers you can order, that would be a safer bet.

But a white console can't be too bad. The pS5 will be giant, so probably the size of my old and no longer used G4 Mac from 1999. That thing is giant. It has a cool design though, even to this day.

The potential for hydro dipped designs is huge too.

That could offer some interesting random, camouflage paint styles, true.

25 days until November 12th, 2020. So less than a month till PS5 is available in some areas. But then also considering some retailers won't send it out till that day, so 25+ days is possible. Those picking up their consoles have a better chance of launch day.

I remember getting my PS4 in the mail on November 14th. 1 day early. Probably because Amazon got their allotment sooner & they needed to make warehouse space.

Might not get lucky this time if PS5’s are limited & space is plentiful.

That was cool.
Hopefully there's no lock down situation that happens anytime soon with flu season returning. I think most places have people wearing masks throughout the world, so hopefully that'll help a bit against any shut down stuff. This way the PS5's can be shipped out early.

I had bought mine from BB and it ended up coming the next week. I hope my experience this time with WM will be better.

Getting hard to keep track of what has been posted among the different threads now. But this is interesting.

Quote:
Speaking with 4Gamer.net, as translated by ResetEra user orzkare, PlayStation’s Yasuhiro Otori revealed that optimisations will occur post-launch as well – with the system’s fan able to be adjusted with firmware updates.

“Various games will be released in the future, and data on the APU’s (Accelerated Processing Unit) behaviour in each game will be collected,” Otori revealed. “We have a plan to optimise the fan control based on this data.” Further context from 4Gamer.net adds: “PS5 has three temperature sensors on the main board to control the fan speed based on the internal temperature of the APU and the highest temperature of the three temperature sensors. These fan control parameters will also be updated via online updates.”

So, in theory, Sony can turn the fans down depending on how the majority of titles perform – or even increase them if the system starts running hot under certain conditions. It seems like a lot of thought has been put into the PS5’s hardware design, and while the average consumer will probably never notice the changes to the fans, it’s neat that the platform holder is committed to monitoring the system’s performance and making adjustments over time.

Ah, don't worry about it. Probably plenty of people that might not visit the thread it gets posted in. Which for reference Mavrick did via Resetra in the PS5 teardown thread

It's Bluetooth and likely the only one that will work with the PS5 for UHD playback (other than the DualSense.)

Still makes no sense making it $100. That’s regardless.

I think that Amazon can be great but sometimes having 3rd party sellers appear like that with their ridiculous pricing may somewhat undermine the retail giant. I'm pretty sure those can't be SRP prices for the accessories and merely an inflated and price gouged attempt by the 3rd party seller.

Possibly, though my 2019 4K smart TV has a setting that recognizes devices, and with my 2010 PS3 connected to it, it has basic blu ray and blu ray 3D playback from my TV's controller to my PS3. That was totally unexpected and I'll be interested to see if it recognizes the PS5's UHD drive to play blu ray and UHDs. Will test it out in November. Even so, it'll only go through the menu's with the arrow controls and then press enter. Once I start the movie though, the TV controller can't seem to affect it after that, so if I forget to put on subtitles or something, I have to get up and walk over to the PS3 controller to do it at that point.
