The Worst Sidekicks on TV Today

Last week, we listed the supporting characters we love. Now here's the flipside: These are the current (no cancelled and/or already fired people!) scripted and reality characters who are a detriment to their shows, and oh, how we hate them for it.

Thirteen ("House")
Yes, we are beating a dead horse here, but this list would look weird without the most hated screenhog in "House" history on it. There, it's said. She needs to go.



Randy Jackson ("American Idol")
He adds nothing to the show, says the same four things over and over, and if you're going to be a not-Simon on this show, please at least be entertainingly incoherent like Paula.



Samantha ("Dancing With the Stars")
She can't read cue cards, which is bad enough, but when she's off-book she's even worse, asking some of the dumbest questions we've ever heard uttered on reality television. And this week she called someone a "poopyhead." Poopyhead!



Kim Bauer ("24")
You really can't tell me she had to come back in order for Jack to be saved. There are a million different ways the writers could have gone to cure Jack's exposure to a made-up biotoxin. And when they know how much the fans vehemently hate Kim, her return was beyond superfluous.



Mohinder ("Heroes")
Admittedly, there are a lot of people on "Heroes" who need killin', as most of them have become annoying parodies of their formerly compelling selves, but for us, Mohinder is the worst (yes, even more than Sylar). He's whiny, he's stupid, he's self-righteous for no valid reason, but most of all, he's boring.



Rufus ("Gossip Girl")
It was a toss-up between Vanessa and Rufus here, but at least Vanessa does things. Rufus, on the other hand, makes us feel like we just downed a bottle of Ambien when we're watching his scenes. Is there anyone who doesn't fast-forward through his scenes?



Charlotte ("Private Practice")
Raise your hand if you don't care about her intimacy issues! Or her superior coffee! Or anything about her!



Almost Everybody ("Grey's Anatomy")
Hard to nail down just one from this show because it's really an ensemble and most of the characters are annoying. So to make it easier, aside from Cristina, Callie, Sloan, Bailey and sometimes Alex, everyone else could up and quit, and we'd help them pack.



Lois ("Smallville")
Another dumb character, we hate Lois mostly for stealing Chloe's rightful journalistic and screen-time thunder. She may be nice to look at, boys, but a believable crack reporter Lois is so not.



Rebecca ("Brothers & Sisters")
Her relationship with Justin was chemistry-free and full of tedious fights, her inevitable hook-up with Ryan is unnecessary and clearly just a lazy reason to keep her on the show after her breakup with Justin, and her role as a marketing genius at Ojai is laughable.

...Wait, we have a Most Hated Screenhog In History, and NONE of the new Doctor Who series are on the list?

Do they ever help people on Grey's? All I ever see when I turn to it is people sleeping together or arguing about sleeping with someone else.

Well, from the title is sounds like a bunch of people studying each others bodies. Which, when you watch it, is about right.

I agree with Mohinder on Heroes! He should've died a long time ago. He's just annoying as all hell now and serves no purpose to the show whatsoever!

I have to disagree with Mohinder from Heroes and Lois from Smallville. (They also mention Sylar as a "sidekick"? WTH?! Without Sylar there is no show, period.) Mohinder is also not stupid. Let's see any of you even attempt the research he has done. Then Lois... While I do agree that Chloe deserves more screentime (I <3 Allison Mack) you can't have Clark Kent without Lois. She's not a "sidekick" but a "love interest". Chloe is the Sidekick.

I don't watch nor even care to watch any other show mentioned in that list so I couldn't care less about the characters.

I can no longer stand that show because of her, and I can sit through anything if Bruce Campbell is in it. This show is the one exception.

Well, I'll tell you who I hate even though he technically isn't a sidekick but the new "star" of CSI and a BIG screen hog and that's Ray Langston (Laurence Fishburne.) His character has brought nothing new to the show except incoherent and incomplete story lines. Mr. Fishburne needs to stick with doing Matrix movies and leave crime drama alone.
