Default Help with digital copy

Hi everyone, I'm trying to transfer Pineapple Express and Hancock to my computer. When I get the Bonus Digital Copy window up and click "Transfer PC Version", I get an error saying that I need to have Internet Explorer 6 or greater as my default browser. It is.

Does anyone know what I should do?

Not sure. I had a little trouble with Hancock and eventually got it but I cannot get it to my ipod due to some encryption or something.

IE is your DEFAULT browser? Sometimes if you install another browser like Firefox or Chrome, they will become your default browser if you okay and on't realize it. If IE is your default browser, then I'm not sure...hope this helps.

I always use firefox, but I took firefox off my default browser to try to get this to work. So yes, IE is currently by default, even though I use firefox regularly.

Thanks anyway for trying.

But the majority of people DO own a laptop (if not with blu-ray), iPod or PSP. And there is no disadvantage to having a digital copy included.

I own a laptop....

I don't care much for digital copies.

I do load them into my itunes (the itunes compatable ones) before they expire just for the heck of it. (I don't bother with the Windows ones because I don't bother with Windows.)

But.... If I own something on Blu Ray I only want to watch it on Blu Ray. I have hundred of DVDs that would do fine for when I travel and anyway I can make a digital copy of any DVD I have with free ware (HandBrake). Standard def stuff looks fine on my laptop and digital copies are approx sd anyway.

I really have no use for digital copies... I import them into itunes just because they are there and I suppose I paid for them but it's all stuff I would rather watch in my Home Theater.

Edit - I don't know how many times I'll watch the Dark Knight but I will never watch it on a cell phone.

-Brian

I had a similar problem with the Pineapple Express transfer to iTunes. Can't remember exactly how I did it but there's a link that takes you to the Sony website where you can enter the code and then the download automatically starts on iTunes.

I was confused at first too since I have IE8 (I use Firefox but I still have IE at least) and it wouldn't let me start the transfer. The popup that appears when you put the digital copy in corresponds to actually transferring the movie to your hard drive and not to iTunes. Another weird thing was that Pineapple Express took about an hour to download whereas all my other digital copies took no longer than 4-5 minutes. And it wasn't my internet connection.....anyone else have that problem?

I also started a thread that suggested that WMVHD become the defacto format for digital copies - just for some of the reasons expressed. I think digital copies are good (Not better that BD's - even if they did come in WMVHD - BD is just better).

I personally don't see myself watching a digital copy unless I'm board and isolated (that happens to alot of sailors going TAD, or transfering between duty stations (because all of their stuff is shipped out). I wouldn't do it often, but my son's generation gets into this type of thing. I'm for digital copies for convienece and if it will cut down on piracy - that's even better.
